'Blink' - New Original Music - An Idea Made from the Remnants of Yesterday's Song - Electronic/Instrumental

I didn't particularly love the song idea, though I did think there were elements that could be used to make something new... that's sort of what happened here, though you'd be hard-pressed on an initial listen to find many similarities. Firstly, I took the drums from yesterday's version (still in tracks 6 and 7), and applied various Portal presets and effects to them to get some weird, squishy, glitchy beats, recorded into Tracks 9 and 10. Initially, I was going to just have these be the drums, but after adding all the other instruments (which we will get to next), I added an actual drum kit in Track 11, which I think worked well with the glitchy weirdness. Tracks 3 and 4 are the same piano and electric piano from yesterday, with Izotope's vinyl plug-in; the progression is quite different though, playing an A (Orange) and B (Blue) section, pictured below. Tracks 13 and 14 are both using the same arpeggiated loop from yesterday's song, though I chopped them up a bit to fit with the harmonic changes, and then reversed the ending each time around, to create a more interesting transition. Track 15 adds a bass part (different synth from yesterday), and finally, we have Track 16 which adds some transitional sounds (one is a weird glitchy noise, one just a white noise swell). Overall, I like this WAY more than yesterday's song. It's funny how something SO different came from that original idea, and definitely a good example of why you shouldn't necessarily discard things you don't like immediately, as they may provide the basis of something better.
