Wired, Wireless, or Wide Open -- How I Listen To Music Says Who I Am
If you ask me what music is, I will tell you that music is magical, it brings people together with a strong emotional connection. At times, you don't have to understand the language of the musician that once you can vibe along with the music.
What we do not know is that, how we decide to vibe and listen to our music speaks volume about us in a world that is constantly filled with noise from every angles. Listening to music is a true reflection of who we are, mental space, our current mood, our environment, cultural background and even, our personal ritual, not just a passive act.
For a lot of people with a glued connection with the earpieces, that is irreplaceable for them. They don't really vibe with the physical connection, just a long wired cord plugged in their ears does the magic for them. They feel the world, like someone on top of the world. A lot of audiophiles love to take it old school because to them, the music sounds better with a pure sound when the earpieces is plugged in their eyes. It brings back the simpler days—there is nostalgia in it.
Then, we have those who are always going about with their Bluetooth earpod or headphones, sleek and modern isn't it? A symbol and demonstration of the new age convenience, mobility and freedom. They are less distracted from the noise around due to the earpod noise-cancellation that is on which makes them vanish into the curated reality and the world around them blues into a soft mur.
And then, the DJ people who are always on the move with their loudspeaker on listening to music without being mindful of who hears. I won't lie, people who play music on loudspeakers sometimes vex me and sometimes, they know the perfect time to because I want it too. But it is all about sharing their celebrations: happiness, sorrow. Even during protests, it serves as the public emotions.
Each of these styles I mentioned above meant something Psychologically. Those who uses wired earphones wants to focus, no distractions. Those who uses Bluetooth earpod want their ease and the loudspeakers lovers just want to carry the people along.
In this case, what we truly need musically determine how we vibe and listen and it is a reflection on whether we want connection, needs to escape, needs true identity or want the solitude that comes with it. However, some people usually listen to music to get ride of their sorrows, want to remember and some of feel alive..
So here is how i listen to music
From the three types I mentioned above, I use all depending on what I want fory soul, ears and mind. Funny right?
When I am reading something or writing, I plug in my wired earphones. I use my Bluetooth earbuds when I'm in a conversation. And my loudspeakers when I want to feel connected and want the people around to know that someone's still alive. Because to me, music it felt all over and it is just not heard. And how we decide to listen to it is our story.
Thank for reading.
