Making Hive a Tad Less Lonely: Who Should I Support?
The world’s a pretty lonely place. At least that’s what they say... Then again, your world is whatever you make it. You can change the little things around you. And maybe a whole bunch of small things add up to one big one. If you’re lucky, anyway. To me, Hive is one of those things that can help change the world for the better. It’s this weird mutant; halfway between a social and an asocial network. Lately, the asocial side’s been winning. Probably because most of us are driven by greed rather than any real desire to actually be social. That’s why every red percentage point, every tiny fraction of a cent that flakes off, hurts so much.
Anyway... I haven’t had much time for Hive lately. And I’m bummed about it. Things should be getting better now, though. But during those lean weeks, I noticed my Voting Power was just sitting there, gathering dust. Which, with 100k HP, is a damn shame. I’ve got my favorite authors. I’ve got my favorite topics. But maybe it’s time to branch out. Be a bit more social. And find some new, interesting people to follow.
There are, of course, a few red flags that are absolute deal-breakers for me:
- I’m not interested in following or supporting anyone who writes nonsense just for the sake of writing. You see posts in #beersaturday that make you want to cry. Just one absurdity after another. Look, no one’s saying you have to be a certified beer sommelier. Just admit you don’t know much about it and write accordingly. I’ve seen the same kind of crap about "luxury instant coffee" in Cinnamon Cup Coffee, in tons of travel posts... Long story short: if you’re just making stuff up to fill the space, you’re out of luck.
- I don’t want to follow or support people who (mostly) write about Hive. Sure, I love Hive. But the only way to make it an attractive platform is to offer readable, interesting content about anything other than Hive itself. And Splinterlands. And other games, tokens, and so.
- I want to follow and support those who act responsibly. I get that in some parts of the world, a few extra bucks a week is a small fortune. I get that if someone’s paying for servers and infrastructure, they need to cover the costs. But I value long-term, sustainable behavior.
- I’m not here to support comment farmers. We all complain about generic AI content flooding the internet... and then a bunch of mass-commenting accounts act the exact same way. Whether they use AI or not. A few of those people are already on my blacklist.
So, in a nutshell: If you write interesting stuff that could hold its own even outside of Hive, if you actually know what you’re talking about, if you don't post mindless comments, and if you have a long-term strategy, let me know. I’d love to start following you. And if you know someone like that, send them my way!
Oh, and obviously, preference goes to anyone who’s into the humor and visual style of @dead-pets.
And about that lonely place... it’s actually the moon. In a lyric by Jáchym Topol, set to music by Monika Načeva, that is:
Měsíc je osamělý místo
vysílá vlny když na mě civí
"The moon is a lonely place
sending out waves while staring at me"
But that doesn’t change what I wanted to say with this post.
And since we’ve got a song here and it’s Tuesday, let’s turn this into a #ttt post.
And how better to follow up on that suffocating, urban lyricism of loneliness than with a song about a suitcase full of useless junk (which I’ve personally preferred to leave behind) but still. In a way, I’m the same:

Going from nowhere to nowhere, and who knows where I’ll end.

missing our native Czech, eh? Is it just price that's driving us to be antisocial here? I don't know. Maybe it's ennui, as in many long-standing relationships. Sometimes I feel I've got nothing left to say to this place, regardless of price... But maybe I'm an odd one out.
I wish I could suggest someone, but we tend to support the same people. @riverflows is probably my favorite writer on here. Other than her, I can't think of anyone.

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new

They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone

Well, under those demanding parameters, I suspect you might be interested in taking a closer look at my blog to see what you find. And if you also like good music, then I'm sure you will find something!
Well, I can't promise all of my comments are mindless. That's a huge ask :)
Personally, I like to write more about what my mind or heart says. But it does not mean, I am all naive. I, too, live in a capitalist society. In the beginning, I focused more on comment farming (4-5 months back), and that's a fact. But with the passage of time, I learnt one thing: Hive is all about being a normal human. Normal human? Yes, because human beings are social animals. You do not have to chase perfection, just be genuine, be you and put some effort.
Moreover, my plan is to learn, earn and write. I have gotten, somewhat, better with my writing. My thought porcess has changed a lot, and there are many people to be credited on Hive as well. One thing is for sure, I am here for long-term. Hive is kind of a side hustle for me, as I have enough to eat, live and survive. Maybe, I am considering it, as a future investment. I hope a bomb does not kill me before I use this "future investment."
Btw, I wanted to yap more, but that first song is beautiful of all three. She is pretty; voice is soothing. Understanding, let us not talk about it. Lol
And honestly, the demands are quite scary. And here I am, trying to figure out how to stop using too many commas.

Not a way you can currently find people, but once I fully launch this, https://xplpic.com/ might help you find some people to follow. The site's goal is to attract nonhivers to use the site(hence the email login being shown before keychain) and just get them posting without knowing much about Hive, but being focused on a very small thing of travel and pictures from around the world. They don't even see that they earn rewards so they should treat it like normal social media. Hopefully we drive some cool content onto Hive from this. (Yes this is similar to worldmappin but has quite a few differences like the pictures aren't posted as a post so it's easier to drop a pic without writing more and has some features I want, mainly ease of use)

Hello everyone I hope you are all good and well today in this post is some of the evidence to prove my case
If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone
