I made this track after reading about the war in Ukraine and while thinking about the events there. I was reading about the people trapped in the subway stations while the bombing was occurring above them. The track started utilizing a kind of siren sound like the bombing or air raid sirens - I’m not even sure if they have such a thing in Ukraine - but that high alert kind of sound that means danger.

I was making the track in December so I almost named it European Winter but chose Song For Ukraine. There’s the siren sound but then there’s a strength or resilience as well - and it’s meant to be an empowering song for those people that are in danger and being attacked.

Ultimately the sirens don’t prevail and the resilience is sustained through the track to the next song.

It’s a song about not ignoring danger but rather recognition and then resilience through danger or hardship.
