Beautiful morning to you all. I want to welcome you all to Afritunes week 68. Today I will be doing a cover of the song Bibanke(meaning "If I'm crying" in English) by Asa. Asa is a Nigerian musician whom I love so much. The first time I saw her picture when I was young, I fell inlove with her beautiful dreads. No wonder I eventually turn my hair into locs as an adult. But what I love the most about her is her music. She do take her time to write amazing lyrics and the melody she puts into them is simply amazing.

Bibanke is a yoruba word and it's one of her songs that I love and cherish so much. That's because I can relate to the lyrics so well. It talks about a lady recounting her experience with the man she loves who leaves her/ treat her wrongly. A little bit of yoruba was also embedded in the lyrics and it interprete into "If I'm crying, leave me alone" which is quite understandable. You can't treat me badly and then express fake emotions when I'm down. The lyrics and the rythm of the song is so beautiful which is why I really love it. I listen to it a lot while growing up and I could sing it with my eyes closed. Lol. I do hope you enjoy it.
