AFRI-TUNES WEEK 49 || Wait for me by Johnny Drille|| Cover by @gloriaolar [ENG/ESP]
Good morning everyone,
Today I want to welcome you all to Afritunes week 49 and today I will be doing a cover of the song Wait for me by Johnny Drile who is a Nigerian musician. This song was his first hit song and it came out a couple of years ago. The song talks about a young man leaving home (probably for military or for greener pasture) and he's singing for his girlfriend whom he'll be leaving behind to please wait for him and not leave him for another man or other reasons. The song is a very beautiful song due to its lyrics and melodies which are simply amazing. It's a beautiful love song and since this is a week of love, I decided to sing it and also I like the song a lot.
The song was quite challenging when I was singing it because it a low pitch and I don't often sing well on a low pitch but I managed to do my best with this one. I did put in great effort in the song and I do hope you really enjoy it. The instrumental of the song was gotten here.

Hoy quiero darles la bienvenida a todos a la semana 49 de Afritunes y hoy haré un cover de la canción Wait for me de Johnny Drile, un músico nigeriano. Esta canción fue su primera canción exitosa y salió hace un par de años. La canción habla de un joven que se va de casa (probablemente por motivos militares o por un pasto más verde) y le está cantando a su novia, a quien dejará atrás para que lo espere y no lo deje por otro hombre u otras razones. La canción es una canción muy hermosa debido a su letra y melodías que son simplemente increíbles. Es una hermosa canción de amor y como esta es una semana de amor, decidí cantarla y también me gusta mucho la canción.
La canción fue bastante desafiante cuando la estaba cantando porque tiene un tono bajo y no suelo cantar bien en un tono bajo, pero me las arreglé para hacerlo lo mejor posible con esta. Puse un gran esfuerzo en la canción y espero que realmente la disfruten. El instrumental de la canción se consiguió aquí.

Johnny Drille is one of my favourite Nigerian R&B singers. His songs lyrics travels down to the soul. If you no wan love before, his songs will wanna make you fall in love 😁😁. You did so well presenting the song dear friend. Kudos to you 👍👍
Thank you so much Sayofunmi, I also love Johnny Drille a lot. Since the first time I heard this song, he's been one of my favorite artists. Aside Wait for me, Papa is my second favourite of his. Might sing it next week once I'm able to learn the lyrics well😊😊😊.

This song is so emotional. I can imagine the feeling among lovers when one of the partners is leaving to a far distance. Some times I imagine how the wives of soldiers and some of these far distant transport men and other men in that category feel when their husbamds are away
I think it has contributed largely to the rate of infidelities in marriages. However, it is not an excuse at all.

Awwwwww, Thank you soo much 🙏🙏🙏. The song is actually sad to some extent especially if you watch the music video but I won't tell you what happened cus I want you to watch it. Its not easy leaving our loved ones you know. I could remember when I was going for service how my mum and brothers were crying at the park and I was to. The first night I spent alone, I cried all through the night cus I was thousands of miles away from my family for the first time so I do know the feeling.
