Good morning everyone,

I welcome you all to Afritunes week 51. Today I will be doing a cover of the song Family by Bayanni. This song is one of my favorite of his because of its lyrics and its beautiful rhythm. The song talks about how important our family is and how he'd go extra length to make sure his family is comfortable well taken care of. It also expresses the need to not just assume people are OK and comfortable because most of the times its all just on the surface. Lot of people are just wearing nice clothes to look comfortable on the outside but the reverse is the case on the inside. They have lots of things going on and lots of responsibilities. We should try and see beyond the surface and encourage people more. We shouldn't feel overly entitled. You might even not know that, that person you think is looking okay is not as rich as you are. They just want to look nice so people won't see their problems and responsibilities on the surface.

This song is also a shoutout to all hardworking people out there, you guys are amazing. It's not easy hustling for oneself talk less of hustling to take care of the family too. As much as you desire a better future, God will provide it and make all your heart desires come to pass.

The song is a combination of pidgin English and little Yoruba language. Will try to subtitle the Yoruba part below. The instrumental of the song was gotten from this site.

LYRICS

This is one beautiful thing that I always appreciate about music, not just singing, but sending a great message and impacting lives.
This song has the potential to touch and change someone's motive about his or her family.
Bayanni on the other hand is a great signing for Mavins. I personally like the guy's style of singing.
You have done well by making a shout out to genuine hustlers out there.
Thanks for this entry, it will always remain in our hearts!

Absolutely, the first day I heard this song and his mum’s voice at the beginning I was almost crying. Remind me of my mum and my family and how I will go extra miles just to make sure life is comfortable for them. Song has a way of touching and impacting lives.

I’m so glad you love and connect with the presentation. Thank you so much for the wonderful comment🙏.

Well spoken Gloria and well presented.

Indeed we do not need to feel too entitled and we need to care for another. These are seemingly two conflicting stuff but it is very clear nd simple.
Those who think they are in need and therefore the world should come o their aid shouldn't think they are the only ones in need and thus not feel too entitled. And on the other hand, we are to try to reach out to others no matter how small, because we never can tell what our neighbors are going through.

This is a good song well sung with good melody as always. You know say you na boss lady so your productions na boss 🙄🙄
Weldone dear. You rock!!

I totally agree with you. It’s true that some people are just selfish and stingy but then again it doesn’t mean everyone are. Some people are looking good outside but they are passing through a lot. If you move closer to them, you’d realize their problem might even be greater than yours yet they are smiling and laughing. Feeling entitled is a very bad thing I must say. Also we should try to reach out too whenever we can. Who knows, we might even be able to help.

Yeah, a lot of people are going through a lot. We see a lot of people smile and assume that they are fine, but deep down they are not.

This is why it's good to be nice to people no matter what.

Lovely presentation Gloria, the harmony was on point.

Thank you so much Jessica.

I agree with you. We need to be nicer to people and stop assuming everything is OK. Everyone has their own responsibilities and so we can't be feeling entitled.
