Metaverse for Musicians ?

avatar
(Edited)

Wouldn't be great to create a virtual room where sesssion musicians can meet and record together?

Or a virtual recording studio with Songwriters, Composers and Session musicians joining in different music production project?

Anyone out there in the Hive Community ?

Or... what's it the best Metaverse platform to design such a Massive recording studio building ?

Thank you

I don't know if that is happening anywhere. I do know there are tools that make remote recording more viable now. We do have Hive musicians collaborating anyway. There is so much music here, but bringing in more musicians will make more cool stuff happen.

"I'm imagining a virtual recording building where songwriters are located on the first floor, session musicians on the second floor, mixing engineers on the third floor, and a mastering room on the fourth floor. This building would attract international musicians from all around the world." Also the work can be paid in ....... crypto.

We had some Hive meetups in a 3d environment called AltspaceVR (shut down in March). You could use a VR headset or just a PC and talk to people you were close to. That was a nice way to meet some fellow Hivers. Actually making music over the internet has limitations due to delays.

Of course people meet up in chatrooms and forums all the time. Hive has forms of those, but it's not so real time. There is actually a chat facility in peakd that just got updated.

A joy of Hive is that you can reward any interaction with crypto. Then there is the @risingstargame where people earn it by playing and you can buy music there. We are exploring new ways to pay musicians. I've made more music posts on Hive than from selling my music elsewhere, but then I'm just a hobbyist. We are the pioneers of Music3.0.

!BEER and cheers.

Thank you, Steve. You're right; there is latency when recording together online, but it's more of a concern for live concerts involving musicians connecting from different parts of the world. Typically, when I record drums for artists, I'm in my own studio tracking over an already recorded demo. However, I've been considering the concept of a virtual room with virtual instruments that we can explore in a metaverse-like environment and select for the session. If a client desires specific microphones or preamplifiers that I own, they can choose them for the session. Some microphones may have different prices, and the client can select different options and pay in real-time. Additionally, the client can observe me recording their song and listen through the camera channel. It could be an exciting experience, akin to playing a video game.

I'm remote session work is a big thing now as it saves a lot of money. I'm not sure how it would work in a 'virtual' realm. That has not really taken off apart from games, but then I was reading that Second Life is still going, so some people enjoy that world.

With music it's the sound that matters, but you can create environments that allow better interaction.

I like real instruments anyway :)

I will not force my son to design a metaverse for me. Instead, he can choose between washing dishes for the summer or working on designing metaverse codes.

My son is 15 years old and currently attending an IT-high school in Rome. However, he strongly dislikes it and shows no interest in discussing topics such as the metaverse or blockchain. Instead, his passion lies solely in conversations about Lazio FC.

My kids are not so interested in blockchain stuff either, but I created accounts for them that earn something. Son is into video games. Daughter loves music and was just at Download Festival. She plays violin in the university orchestra.

This is actually a pretty good idea... it can really get those creative juices flowing!

Thank you so much . I'll be looking for a Metaverse architect and a good platform ( Sandbox-Milc-Spatial )

That sounds like a cool idea! Maybe something @cryptocompany could facilitate in their world? I'm sure @hmvf would be keen to participate, there are some awesome music/video creators on Hive, and brining them together is one of the biggest challenges it seems.
