162,5 BPM

Here is the story.
I was practicing fast swing chops ..... 325 BPM and I kind of lost the concentration and I started playing drum&bass beatz.
So let's make the math
The drumbeat I'm playing is at 162.5 BPM.

I hadn't originally intended to create a drum video, so the audio is captured from my Lumix FZ1000.

I hope you enjoy it. I went for a more tribal feel, not adhering to a specific song structure.

There is something about those drum & bass beats. It's not really my sort of music, but it still gets me.

Steve. I have learned the drum and bass thing in London in ......96-97. i actually played the last Blue Note gig at Whitechapel with Talvin Sing on percussion and Loops. It was a lot of fun. What strikes me in drum and bass is playing very fast thinking half tempo. So the beat is 164ish and I internally sing my subdivisions at 82.

Maybe I'll have a go at that genre some time. Drumeo have lessons in all styles.

I was at a Bowie tribute gig in Durham cathedral recently. At one point the singer asked 'who likes drum and bass?' before they played Little Wonder from the Earthling album. They used backing tracks on that as I'm not sure their drummer could keep up. I do like that album, but then Bowie took elements of many styles.
