Full disclosure I’m still healing up from a fever and Covid, I’m a little slow this morning 😂 excuse my brain speed below as I attempt to speak! Feel free to skip right into the tunes! But feeling much better! Just not 💯 Regardless we got one of my favorite Three Tune Tuesdays! So many sure connections I had to include extra Bonus Picks to hi-light it all!

I picked Three tunes all recorded in Seattle 1989, two released that year and one in early 1990. Seattle was these three bands. Years b4 Nirvana broke. Nothing against Nirvana at all! But this was what put that scene on the map!

Temple Of The Dog was a one off record after Andrew Died the guys from Mother Love Bone did with Chris Cornell of Soundgarden singing. It was a tribute to there friend and passed away frontman Andrew Wood. Eddie Vedder only sang on one track. It was just as Pearl Jam was hardly a thought.

Artist - Temple Of The Dog
Song - Hunger Strike
Album - Temple Of The Dog (1990)

Then we got a similar story here, the same band members from Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam , & Temple Of The Dog with Lead Singer from Alice In Chains ( Layne Staley) a one full album side project! The band is Mad Season!

Extra Bonus ⬇️

Bonus Jam is Pearl Jam doing the First Pick above live. Andrew Wood the Mother Love Bone frontman Died before Seattle blew up in 1991. The band became Pearl Jam when they asked a young California kid named Eddie Vedder to join there new band in 1990. They sometimes play a couple Mother Love Bone tunes live. Here is example below…

I see it might not be playable from here. Pearl Jam is pretty strict about this stuff. Check it out at link!

The meting out of the essence in its raw form to Seattle’s 1989-0 music scene through the tracks from Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains is like a sonic time machine. Each note resounds the genesis of grunge, a movement that came to become Pearl Jam and Temple Of The Dog. Which is your most favourite track that reflects this crucial period?

Very solid. Soundgarden & Alice are awesome. My ex girlfriend said “Man in a box” was my theme song…..😎
