On this Alt2k Wednesday we each pick a band , album & two songs off each. This week we go towards pop picking Good Charlotte & New Found Glory!

Gene picks Good Charlotte and the bands first album released in 2000 titled “Good Charlotte” This was before they found mega mainstream success on the second album in 2002. Picking the song I Heard You for DailyJam, a non radio single that should have been released as one. For BonusJam it’s the song Little Things which was the albums lead single and got alternative rock play summer of 2000.

Ashlee picks the band New Found Glory and there second record also released in 2000 and also simply titled “New Found Glory”. both these records were released just months after the nineties ended but indeed are 2000’s tunes! Ashlee picks the song Hit Or Miss as DailyJam which was also the bands lead single. For BonusJam it’s the opening track Better Off Dead!

I do a much deeper dive and long form vlog on Tuesdays & Friday (ThreeTuneTuesday & NinetiesFriday). On Wednesday & Saturday we usually keep it more brief and just pick tunes to share for Alt2k Wednesday & Eighties Saturday! Enjoy!

I will always call these bands “The Sound of My Juventus.” I'm a pop fan, but punk gave me those teenage emotions and adventures with my friends because it was the favorite music genre in the classroom. Good Charlotte is an iconic band, one of my favorites, and I only knew My Friends Over You by New Found Glory, but here at Hive I've been discovering more of their music thanks to posts like this one ✌️

Good Charlotte were huge here in USA on there second album, the one with these songs ⬇️

But there albums after didn’t hit mainstream here in USA, but Good Charlotte remained huge in Australia & Japan for all albums. I assume they also stayed big in South America. I believe they played Brazil this week.

These songs below made little or no appearance on radio or MTV in USA. But did become big singles in other places. ⬇️
