(Edited)

Iā€™ll be talking about the soundtrack to Empire Records below, but first ā¬‡ļøā€¦

Iā€™m hoping this builds into something similar to ThreeTuneTuesday where we have many people involved! But I gotta start so here we go! I will give 3 basic income units to a winning random post every week who uses the #NinetiesFriday tag. Also @thebighigg has jumped in to match for 6 total weekly prize! If anyone else wants to sponsor with any amount of units let me know or just send if you donā€™t wanna commit to weekly šŸ‘

Some ideas are music, movies, television, sports, or really anything Nineties related. I assume movie or tv or music topic reviews or talk will be most common, but you could also talk a sports memory or something else. Think the Pop Culture of the times, but it would be great to hear about little known and interesting bands or entertainment items. Donā€™t forget to use tag #NinetiesFriday

Ok now on to this weeks post!

Empire Records is a Nineties classic film. Especially the ladies at my high school loved it! It was an alternative cult classic. Kinda had an eighties movie vibe but with nineties themes. The film is about a bunch of college age kids who work at Empire Records, the anti chain store record spot where the punks and alt kids shop!

Damn that is an awesome album. Gin blossoms were a personal favorite.

And Evan dando I totally forgot about him and his Lemonheads so that will go next week.

Awesome songs, and I know Edwyn Collins might be a bit soft compared to the rest but man I still play that tune

These post are really getting my brain cells reactivated and I F ing won, can Friday get any better....

Yes if people will read my #ninetiesFriday post and liken it but that one will come in 4 hours or so.

Thanks !PIMP & !PIZZA

That Gin Blossoms track takes me back bro. I'm not too old but I'm loving the old times song man. They were definitely popular jam in the '90s. Their sound always hits the right nostalgic notes. Epic choices as always man

All of the music is awesome, now I have to watch the movie for sure! Plus Liv always looks great!

They chose the music well for the soundtrack, someone knew what they were doing!

I recognize that movie title but never saw it. The soundtrack has some winners though, is that your vinyl?.

I love Plowed by Sponge, what a song!!! And I have not heard that Cranberries song since the 90s, that's for sure. Also I see Drill is on the soundtrack. They made one album before the lead singer (and heart-throb) Lucia Cifarlli left the band to join KMFDM. That Drill album is pure fire, I love it šŸ˜.

Keep !PIMP'n my good man, and until next #ninetiesfriday, you can talk to the hand!

That Sponge song is gotta be maybe the best alt rock tune of The nineties!

Anytime I hear it from nineties till now it gets me fired up!

Iā€™d put this song as my number two or soā€¦
