5/9/25 - Another Nineties Friday! This Week Is a FiveTuneFriday! Picking & Talking 5 Lesser Known Deep Cuts From 5 Classic Albums! đź’ż
Just had some big dental work done so taking this Friday off from doing the regular vlog. But I will be presenting and sharing some information on five Nineties tunes on this #NinetiesFriday & #FiveTuneFriday 🎸
Today it’s a special #DeepCut nineties Friday where I’ll pick five tunes off five huge records but I’ll pick songs that weren’t radio singles and had no MTV videos made! Personally I think these are great tunes that could have lived a life as a single but instead are just great deep cuts that the casual fans likely don’t know unless they listened to the albums cover to cover.
First up it’s a power track fast punk tune from the Offspring! The first track that opens up the 1994 classic record!
Band - Offspring
Song - Nitro (Youth Energy)
Album - Smash (1994)
It’s the second track from the classic Dookie album. A catchy tune that easily could have been a radio single!
Band - Green Day
Song - Having a Blast
Album - Dookie (1994)
It’s another 1994 released track! This one from the second half of the Soundgarden classic album. Not sure if this one should have been a single. It’s a deep slow rock track that just rocks deeply. This record had six radio singles & music videos. All great songs but this song is just a different vibe.
Band - Soundgarden
Song - Fourth Of July
Album - Superunknown (1994)
From the first Foo Fighters record (1995) my favorite song off it! Definitely could have been a radio single if they wanted!
Band - Foo Fighters
Song - Good Grief
Album - Foo Fighters (1995)
From the huge Red Hot Chili Peppers album 1999’s Californication, which had 5 music videos & singles. This awesome track didn’t make the radio single cut but it’s my second favorite tune from the album!
Band - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Song - Parallel Universe
Album - Californication (1999)
Ok and for a bonus tune!
I wasn’t purposefully trying to make it mostly about 1994 but for a bonus I immediately thought of the first Weezer record. The self titled “Blue” album also came out in 1994 and had some great tunes that weren’t music videos or radio singles. In fact I’m having a hard time choosing which song… let’s go with this one below!
Band - Weezer
Song - In The Garage
Album - Weezer (Blue Album) (1994)
