& we are going #NewWave or FirstWaveSaturday today! Picking tunes from that early eighties scene! Let’s Go!

Gene goes with early Billy Idil and picks the song Dancing With Myself (1981) from the album Kiss Me Deadly. Originally performed by the band Generation X, this tune would be re-released & recorded for Billy’s solo career two years later. Generation X was Billy’s band and had three full length albums between 1978-1981. For bonus track I’m going to break the rules and pick a song from 1978 off the first Gen X record. The song is Ready Steady Go from self titled Generation X album. I know it’s a couple years early but hey nothing is more eighties than Billy Idol so I think I’m good…

Ashlee goes with the band The B-52's. Also picking song off each of there first two albums. DailyJam is the song Private Idaho from the 1980 album Wild Planet. For bonus track Ashlee’s also dipping into the late seventies and picking the song Rock Lobster from 1979’s The B-52's. Half our picks might be from the seventies but these artists brought in what would become NewWave and started the scene!
