Ashlee’s Solo Three Tune Tuesday Picks! Tuesday December 17th

Gene’s doing a solo post over @geneeverett so we are doing something different this week and Ashlee is doing a solo take over post! I’m picking three tunes with the artist Benjamin Gibbard on lead vocals and songs he wrote.

Benjamin Gibbard Was the frontman for the band Postal Service & Death Cab For Cutie. He also has put out a few solo records. I will be picking tunes from these three projects.

First up as we go in chronological order is the song Such Great Heights from the only Postal Service “ Give Up “ record released in 2003

Second up!

Moving forward a couple years my second pick is the song Soul Meets Body from the year 2005 and the band Death Cab For Cutie. It’s from the album Plans.

Third up!

The newest pick in chronological order is the 2017 released song The Concept. It’s from Benjamin Gibbard 2017 solo album Bandwagonesque. Still bringing that original sound all these years later.

I wasn’t sure what to pick for bonus tune but I’ll go with the Foo Fighters 2014 record Sonic Highways song “ Subterranean” which has Benjamin Gibbard on backing vocals.

His vocals increase as every chorus goes by so by end of tune you can hear him in the mix pretty loudly.
