Coverdale/Page's short-lived post-Purple project

The fascinating Coverdale/Page project yesterday celebrated 32 years since its release. This album, which resembles an unplugged album, brings together two rock legends: David Coverdale and Jimmy Page.
The idea came from producer John Kalodner, who took advantage of the recording relationship between the two musicians to propose a collaborative album.
Sales were successful, achieving a gold certificate for 500,000 copies sold in the United States, reaching number 4 on the British charts and number 5 on the Billboard 200.

Standout tracks include ‘Shake Me Free’, with a country-influenced riff that complements Coverdale's powerful vocals.
‘Don't Leave Me This Way’ combines David's sensuality with Page's distinctive solos.
The stunning ‘Whisper a Prayer for the Dying’ is notable for its string section, while ‘Take Me for a Little While’ is a real gem.
Despite the commercial success, the collaboration ended quietly after a brief tour of Japan. However, the relationship between Coverdale and Page remained cordial, leaving us with a brilliant album in our collections.
