The 3rd Evolution - Don't Play With Me
Here's a simple but cool guitar driven Garage Rock song by The 3rd Evolution from the Bronx, New York from 1966.
It starts with the drum and bass for one measure. Then we hear a 4 chord guitar sequence with each chord played as a 3 note arpeggio. The guitar is fuzzy buzzy, I love it! The beat is slow-mid tempo but there are 2 rave ups as the song goes on. The vocals are good. It seems that the backup vocals are parallel with the Lead.

You walk along the street with your nose in the air.
You really think you're something, way you wear your hair.
You act so silly when your friends are there.
Don't Play With Me!
I've known of Don't Play With Me for many years. It is side A of the 45 RPM record. Turns out the B side is also on YouTube and isn't bad at all! This is a kind of DooWop / Surf song with a pretty awesome guitar break! Check it out too!
