Jimi Hendrix, Ladies and Gentlemen, 53 years after his Death: The Legacy of an Outstanding Performer [ENG/ESP]

Source

18th September 1970, London, England, perhaps the most impeccable, talented and passionate guitarist to have dazzled us in the whole of the 20th century, closes his genius and sound for posterity. A sad day indeed if you look at it from a musical and talent point of view. I have no idea if people who use Q Inspired-by-music on a daily basis tend to listen to the legacy of passion, skill and technique that only someone like Jimi Hendrix could do, but if for some reason they don't, then let this post serve that purpose....

Being part of the famous but equally nefarious 27 club is undoubtedly part of how Hendrix has been remembered over the decades. Something which, in my opinion, as well as being sensationalist, is grossly unfair. He was an absolute genius. While his techniques and styles were very much in keeping with the background I had already seen with blues and soul, I wouldn't be lying to you if I told you that 53 years have passed since this magnificent guy left us, and still no one has come close to him in terms of inspiration, impact and depth.

Listening to any song made by Jimi, and his band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience is something you have to try to do at least once in your life. I won't lie to you, I myself didn't remember this date, the date of his sad obituary, but thanks to an article I came across on the internet and an instant spark of motivation and passion, I decided that I couldn't let this occasion pass me by. I am convinced that there are guitar and beauty lovers in this community. And they are experienced enough to be able to find traces of art in many of the sounds that this majestic instrument produces.

If what I have said above is true, then with Hendrix the least you can expect is an orgasm. And no, I am not trying to be crude or indecent. I consider the poetic comparison to be fair and appropriate. I swear, as I write these lines I am listening to the entire album, called "The Best of Experience Hendrix!", and with the remastering they did in 2009, the result is a clean sound (much more than the vinyl format could offer originally) and that fact, has me bristling all the time.

Boy, did this icon, guitarist and all-rounder know what he was talking about when he named his band! It is impossible to be indifferent to the sound of the music of this man and his musicians. America as a country, and this is again my opinion, has the record of having the cradle of three of the most important genres in the history of contemporary music: rock, soul and of course, blues.... These three "gentlemen" are the cornerstone of the music that you and I listen to and will listen to...

It doesn't matter if you prefer hip-hop or if you're more into pop. Look inside every track, every chord, every chord and you'll find traces, if not entire stretches of all three genres... But back to the phenomenal, authentic, unadjectable Jimi Hendrix, I can only take hold of his memory, his influence on me and billions of others and not let die what he means to this human action that I love so much; music. Without him, probably, many of the great guitarists that marked my life would never have existed: as is the case of Slash, who to this day still loves Hendrix madly.

It is also true that within the world of rock and blues, he enjoys undeniable fame and respect, but I go beyond what is obvious and certain. I believe that great musicians can never go unnoticed. We didn't do it with Mozart, with Rosetta Tharpe or with Rachmaninoff, so we shouldn't do it with figures like the protagonist of these humble, and most probably insufficient words in his honour. The same one who today, five decades and three years later, continues to burn like the force of what came out of his guitar. Left-handed, black, powerful and an artist in every word: I love you, Jimi.

Thanks, my good Hivers friends for reading this post!
