Hay pocas películas que evocan este sentimiento tan profundo, de que por más veces que la hayas visto, simplemente, no puedes dejar de entretenerte con una misma historia, con un mismo argumento, con una misma escena, que se queda por siempre en la memoria gustándote, este sentimiento me pasa con películas que genuinamente me fascinan, como lo serian por ejemplo Batman 2, Sin novedad en el frente o Terminator 2, cuando esto me pasa esto, se que hay algo que genuinamente me ha encantado, pero me cuesta, por más que lo intente, señalar a 1 sola cosa en especifico que le de motivo a tanto gusto d de mi parte, y creo que esto me pasa con Whiplash, me cuesta mucho encontrarle puntos flacos, a una película, que tiene a un protagonista tan bien armado, junto a antagonista que cada vez que lo vemos en escena, demuestra ser el que tiene el control de todos los que están en su banda, ajustándolos dramáticamente cada vez que se equivocan y de ser posible, maltrantandolos psicologicamente con tal de que alcancen su maldito tempo, simplemente, epico, yo jamas he estado en una banda de musica de ningun tipo, ero la película es tan tensa en ocasiones, que es casi imposible no retener la respiración cada vez que el maestro para la orquesta de golpe.
There are few movies that evoke such a deep feeling, that no matter how many times you have seen it, you simply can't stop being entertained with the same story, with the same plot, with the same scene, that stays forever in your memory, this feeling happens to me with movies that genuinely fascinate me, as it would be for example Batman 2, All Quiet on the Front or Terminator 2, when this happens to me, I know that there is something that I genuinely loved, but I find it hard, no matter how hard I try, to point to 1 single thing in specific that gives reason to so much pleasure on my part, and I think this happens to me with Whiplash, I find it hard to find weaknesses in a film that has a protagonist so well armed, along with an antagonist that every time we see him on stage, proves to be the one in control of everyone in his gang, adjusting them dramatically every time they make a mistake and if possible, mistreating them psychologically, I've never been in a band of any kind, but the movie is so tense at times, it's almost impossible not to hold your breath every time the maestro stops the orchestra with a bang.

Amar esta película, hace ver a uno como si fuera un como si fuera un completo sádico, pues el sufrimiento que vemos en esta obra no es normal desde el entrenamiento hasta los ensayos, pasando por los conciertos, todo, se resumen un esfuerzo agotador, producto de una relación toxica y obsesiva que hace ver las consecuencias o quizás el precio a pagar, por intentar llegar al nivel más alto de Jazz y en este caso, de la batería, la película critica mucho el reforzamiento negativo, la tutorias dañinas para los alumnos, y la obsesión con la perfección, no obstante, también no deja sobre la mesa, la posibilidad de que todo este conjunto de cosas que critica, puede dar resultado positivos al final creando a un ser humano capaz de sobrepasar sus limites en el ámbito que quiera proponer, considero que Whiplash, es quizás, una de las obras maestras del cine dedicadas enteramente al Jazz, aunque honestamente mi opinión es sumamente desinformada, pues no tengo este gusto por el cine referente a artistas músicos o historias ficticias o basadas en hechos reales, no obstante, si no es una obra maestra, entonces mínimo, tiene que ser una de las mejores historias que se han escrito e interpretado relacionadas al Jazz y tiene mucho merito, que sea tan entretenida incluso para un publico, que no esta tan estrechamente relacionado con este tipo de cine.
Loving this film, makes one look like a complete sadist, because the suffering that we see in this work is not normal from training to rehearsals, through the concerts, everything is summarized as an exhausting effort, product of a toxic and obsessive relationship that makes you see the consequences or perhaps the price to pay for trying to reach the highest level of Jazz and in this case, The film criticizes a lot the negative reinforcement, the harmful tutoring for the students, and the obsession with perfection, however, it also leaves on the table, the possibility that all this set of things that criticizes, can give positive results in the end creating a human being capable of exceeding his limits in the field that he wants to propose, I consider that Whiplash, is perhaps, one of the masterpieces of cinema entirely dedicated to Jazz, although honestly my opinion is extremely uninformed, because I do not have this taste for cinema referring to artists musicians or fictional stories or based on real events, however, if it is not a masterpiece, then at least, it has to be one of the best stories that have been written and interpreted related to Jazz and has much merit, that is so entertaining even for an audience, which is not so closely related to this type of cinema.

Por si quedan dudas, les recomiendo muchísimo bastante Whiplash, incluso si no eres muy fan de las tramas que tengan que ver con música, les aseguro que esta no es la típica historia de siempre, donde el protagonista siempre consigue sus objetivos, sufriendo solo leves golpes, aquí todo se siente mucho más real y mucho más apasionado, una film que le recomendaría a cualquier baterista que aspire a lo más grande, teniendo en cuenta sus cosas negativas obivamente, ¡Muchas gracias por leer mis panas! como siempre, un placer hablar de muscia, cine y arte en general, espero que les haya gustado esta Review-Recomendación, hasta una próxima oportunidad.

Esta película la vi hace años y al leer tus impresiones es como volver a verla, las actuaciones del protagonista y antagonista fueron excelente.
Una película con mucha fuerza, caracter y pasión qué te deja exhausto, el jazz no es mi género favorito pero no fue necesario para disfrutar esta obra de cine.

Hace poco me estado adentrando a la filmografía de Damien Chazelle y creo que de todas las que he visto Whiplash es mi favorita, que forma de abordar la obsesión con la perfección, de hacernos comprender sus ventajas y desventajas, se convirtió rápidamente en una de mis películas favoritas de toda la vida, una obra de arte.
No podría estar más deacuerdo 😎 esta película es arte en si misma, me gustaría ver más obras del mismo director ahora que lo mencionas 👀 tal vez entre ellas haya otra película más que se hizo igual de bien que esta.

Es buenísima esta película, la vi cuando salió y me gustó mucho por mi gusto por el Jazz y lo mejor creo que es la producción, en cuanto a sonido y soundtrack también es otro nivel pero también es un drama de mucho impacto que quiere mostrar la toxicidad que podemos encontrar en un camino hacia los sueños.
Damien Chazelle logró mucho con esta obra. :)
En muchos sentidos es una película a otro nivel y desde que la vi me encanto, me hubiese gustado cubrir más el aspecto musical y los detalles técnicos pero aun me falta cosas por aprender en ese aspecto jajaj, por no decir que no se casi nada, pero en resumen, tremenda historia, tremendos personajes y sin duda, tremenda película, un placer haberla compartido por aca :D
