¡Bienvenidos mis panas amantes de la música rock y en este caso especifico, del genero del numb y rap metal! hoy como pueden ver, hablaremos de otro de los mayores exponentes del genero que exploto a principios de los 2000s y que se han mantenido durante todo este tiempo tanto o más activo que otras bandas que salieron en se momento, sin embargo, trataremos de no ahondar en las actividades recientes de la banda, más que nad aporque no estoy al tanto de sus últimos albums, pero soy consciente de que han sacado más de un disco, mezclando tal vez un par de géneros y estilos, mi intención como siempre, sera darles otra vez un golpe nostalgia volviendo a escuchar las canciones más memorables, analizando su letra, el video musical en caso de tenerla y jugar con las memorias de que se sentía escuchar Papa Roach en aquel entonces, dicho esto, espero que sientan cómodos mis panas ¡Porque vamos a comenzar ya!

Papa Roach comenzó como un proyecto de la mano de Jacoby Shaddix, vocalista de la banda y un amigo del instituto, los inicios fueron bastante duros como casi todos lo son, pero en el caso de Papa Roach la cosa no pintaba muy bien, sobretodo cuando se nota que tardaron aproximadamente casi una década para poder tener algo de estabilidad con la cual poder dedicarse de pleno a la música, o por lo menos, hacer su mejor intento para ser reconocidos y contratados por industrias musicales, que por suerte, tendría sus frutos en el 2000s, con su estreno del album infest, si hay una canción que describe a esta banda con titulo y todo lo demás, esa tiene que ser sin duda alguna Between Angels and Insects, canción que curiosamente habla, de que ninguna posesión material es capaz de llenar el vacío de nuestra alma, por más que insistamos en tener dinero, propiedades o cualquier posesión material, en esta pista y su tono, reina el resentimiento, la furia de tener que lidiar con un sistema insatisfactorio entre otros tópicos que rozan un poco lo político y comulgan con la anarquía.
Papa Roach began as a project of the hand of Jacoby Shaddix, vocalist of the band and a friend from high school, the beginnings were quite hard as almost all are, but in the case of Papa Roach the thing did not look very good, especially when you notice that it took about almost a decade to have some stability with which to devote himself fully to the music, or at least, make his best attempt to be recognized and hired by music industries, which fortunately, would have its fruits in 2000s, If there is a song that describes this band with title and everything else, that has to be without a doubt Between Angels and Insects, song that curiously speaks, that no material possession is able to fill the emptiness of our soul, no matter how much we insist on having money, property or any material possession, in this track and its tone, resentment reigns, the fury of having to deal with an unsatisfactory system among other topics that border a little on the political and commune with anarchy.
Pero bajo mi criterio, no creo que sea la canción más famosa de la banda, al menos, no entre los que yo considero, ese merito se lo tiene que quedar Last Resort, una de las canciones más turbias de la banda, donde se habla de los problemas que sofocaban a los jóvenes que pasaban por situaciones muy jodidas, como perder una madre, quedarse solo ante un mundo hostil, el sentirse menospreciado y claro, llevar a la contemplación del suicidio, todo un con rap en el que se nota que Shaddix no esta hablando por hablar, si no que lo hace desde el fondo de su alma y desde la experiencia, no es una canción que celebra estos sentimientos cabe aclarar, es una canción que expresa como todo eso, te lleva al borde de todas estas contemplaciones negativas en las que quizás, todo podría resolverse si alguien se preocupara de verdad por esa persona que se siente de esta manera, una canción que ha envejecido como el buen vino.
But in my opinion, I don't think it is the most famous song of the band, at least, not among those I consider, that merit has to stay Last Resort, one of the most turbid songs of the band, where they talk about the problems that suffocated the young people who went through very fucked up situations, like losing a mother, being alone in a hostile world, feeling underappreciated and of course, leading to the contemplation of suicide, It is not a song that celebrates these feelings, it is a song that expresses how all this takes you to the edge of all these negative contemplations in which perhaps everything could be solved if someone really cared about that person who feels this way, a song that has aged the good wine.
