¡Buenas mis panas amantes de la música, del rock y en este caso, de las rivalidades más legendarias que han surgido en el mundo del Metal! así es, hablo ni más ni menos que de Megadeth, el hermanastro resentido que desde que la formación de ambas bandas, se han disputado el trono absoluto del Metal, cosa, que ha tenido como consecuencia directa la aparición de tremendos temazos con los cuales se pueden comparar ambas bandas, tanto en éxitos, como en ritmos y en letras, no obstante, cabe aclarar que MEgadeth no es solo una copia más barata de Metallica, de hecho, a pesar de tener algo de similitudes en sus nombres, se hace claro, cuando los escuchas, que se diferencias en bastantes puntos que iremos explorando con sus canciones más populares como ya es costumbre en mis mini tops, por ende ¡Siéntete cómodo de quedarte a escuchar y leer sobre Megadeth, Comencemos!

A principios de los 80s, un par de panas estaban a punto de crear una de las bandas mas importantes que trascenderían su genero llenando estadios en todo el mundo, estos eran conocidos como Metallica, no obstante, estaban falto de un guitarrista que les diera esa rapidez y potencia que les garantizaría un sonido fuera de lo habitual en ese momento, y ese guitarrista era ni más ni menos Dave Mustaine, el que seria en un futuro el fundador de Megadeth, ¿Porque no se quedo en Metallica? bueno, digamos que Dave, le gustaba mucho aspirar sustancias de dudosa procedencia, más de lo que normalmente haría un artista promedio en aquellos años en Los Angeles, esto provoco muchas fricciones con los fundadores de Metallica, que hartos de la situación, cortaron relaciones con Dave y lo mandaron a mimir a casa, No obstante, lejos de desanimarlo, este decidió en su vuelta a casa hacer su propia banda ¡Con furcias y mujerzuelas! por lo que se puso manos a la obra, recluto a varios desdichados ye inicio Megadeth, ¿El resultado?.... bueno oigamoslo.
In the early 80s, a couple of guys were about to create one of the most important bands that would transcend their genre filling stadiums around the world, they were known as Metallica, however, they were lacking a guitarist who would give them that speed and power that would guarantee them a sound out of the ordinary at that time, and that guitarist was none other than Dave Mustaine, who would be in the future the founder of Megadeth, why didn't he stay in Metallica? Megadeth es uno de los casos más curioso de la música, al menos del que yo tenga conocimiento, no todo el tiempo lees como de casualidad dos tipos se enemistaron y debido a eso se terminaron formando dos grupos que harían que ambos se disputaran el estrellato por ver quien es Mejor, parece el Naruto y Sasuke del Metal, y bueno en cierta forma lo es, Megadeth a diferencia de Metallica, cuenta con un estilo mucho más agresivo y rápido en sus canciones sin perder la capacidad de hacer canciones más pausadas claro esta, es curioso que una de sus canciones más famosas, sea una justamente que no goza de una rapidez que dejaría sin dedos a un guitarrista novato, en cambio Symphony of Destruction, podríamos identificarla como una melodía oscura que hace honor a su titulo con un subtexto político bastante cargado, una de las mayores virtudes que siempre le he encontrado a este grupo, es que no temía, en sus años de oro, en hacer criticas destructoras contra cualquier institución que jactaba de ser intachable y estas mismas criticas seguirían en las próximas canciones.

Y un ejemplo perfecto, es la canción Holy Wars... The Punishment Due, esta canción tiene un lazo muy estrecho con Tornado of Souls, otra canción en la que también se hace gala de la rapidez con la que se tocan los RIffs de la guitarra y en la que DAve, demuestra su habilidades tanto para tocar como para cantar un claro mensaje hacia las guerras religiosas y su relación con la guerra o los conflictos que se sucedían en aquel entonces, yo soy muy fan de este tipo de canciones, sobretodo cuando son expresadas con este tipos de ritmos agresivos donde te dejas toda el alma tratando de no errar las notas musicales, obviamente, no hablo desde la experiencia, pero uno si se puede imaginar, viendo el video, todo el esfuerzo que conlleva mantenerse coordinado en este tipo de ritmos que exijen algo más que solo talento, con estas canciones a mi no me cabe duda, que Megadeth, era y es un digno rival para los fans de Metallica, no obstante, si comparamos la fama y la trascendencia de ambos, me temo que el grupo de James etfield se lleva la corona en mi opinión, aunque eso en verdad, a estas alturas no creo que importe, ya con un genero que ha visto mejores días, no vale la pena buscar ver quien es mejor o peor, pues los gustos musicales, es una de las cosas más subjetivas que hay y cada quien valora lo que le gusta ¡Y eso esta genial! si hay algo que también se le puede reconocer a Megadeth, aunque esto no creo que agrade a los fans más acerrimos del grupo, es que Dave es a veces en sus vídeos, involuntariamente gracioso y tengo un vídeo que lo comprueba.
And a perfect example, is the song Holy Wars.... The Punishment Due, this song has a very close link with Tornado of Souls, another song that also shows off the speed with which the guitar RIffs are played and in which DAve, demonstrates his skills both to play and to sing a clear message towards the religious wars and their relationship with the war or the conflicts that were happening at that time, I'm a big fan of this kind of songs, especially when they are expressed with this kind of aggressive rhythms where you leave all your soul trying not to miss the musical notes, obviously, I'm not speaking from experience, but one can imagine, watching the video, all the effort it takes to stay coordinated in this kind of rhythms that demand more than just talent, with these songs I have no doubt that Megadeth, was and is a worthy rival for Metallica fans, however, if we compare the fame and transcendence of both, I'm afraid that James Etfield's band takes the crown in my opinion, although that in truth, at this point I don't think it matters, with a genre that has seen better days, it is not worth looking to see who is better or worse, because musical tastes, is one of the most subjective things there is and everyone values what he likes and that's great! If there is something that can also be recognized to Megadeth, although I don't think this will please the most hardcore fans of the band, is that Dave is sometimes in his videos, unintentionally funny and I have a video that proves it.
Sweating Bullets, a dia de hoy, tiene que ser una tremenda comedia involuntaria que intenta expresar la demencia y esquizofrenia que puede sufrir alguien desde el vídeo, yo entiendo que este es un tema que debe tomarse bastante enserio, mucho más en tiempos actuales donde cada vez son más las personas que padecen este tipo de enfermedades, no obstante, me van a tener que perdonar que encuentren muy gracioso la manera de actúa de Dave con esos gestos en los que intenta aparentar que esta teniendo discusiones internas, pero es que simplemente me hace mucha gracia jajajaj, pero volviendo a la música, creo que una canción bastante curiosa de Megadeth y una que también indica que no solo se trata son capaces de tocar a toda velocidad como si fuera a acabar al mundo, pues con el tiempo y con los álbumes pasar, han dejado todo tipo de canciones, desde melodicas hasta algunas un poco raras como esta, no entrare ene l eterno debate de quien es mejor, si Megadeth o Metallica, yo creo que ya ese tren paso para todos nosotros los que nos hacemos esta pregunta, literalmente, porque ya nuestras queridas bandas tiene una edad y hay que apreciar el legado, sus canciones más populares y esperar a las próximas grandes sigan la senda que han marcado, porque Megadeth, es y siempre sera, un Grande, el mayor Rival de Metallica y una gran banda que surgió desde el odio hasta encaminarse a la gloria.
