¡Buenas mis panas amantes de la música, y fanáticos de las bandas oscuras como mi alma! bienvenidos otra mini review de otro de los grupos que impactaron con fuerzas a principios de los 2000s y que pertenece al privilegiado grupo que lidero las mejores entregas y canciones para su genero y que en cierta forma, popularizo durante esos años el rock, el metal y en especial, el numb, no obstante, en el caso de Korn, hay muchos detalles que lo hacen diferenciarse bastante de otros grupos como S.O.A.D, Linkin Park o Limp Bizkit, y esto es lo que intentare explorar, como de costumbre, recomendando sus canciones y detallando el significado de letras ¡Quédate para ver porque Korn, es tan diferente a las demás bandas mencionadas! ¡Comencemos!
Good morning my fellow music lovers, and fans of dark bands like my soul! welcome another mini review of another of the groups that impacted with forces in the early 2000s and that belongs to the privileged group that led the best deliveries and songs for its genre and that in a way, popularized during those years the rock, metal and especially, the numb, however, in the case of Korn, there are many details that make it quite different from other groups like S. O.A.D, Linkin Park or Limp Bizkit, and this is what I will try to explore, as usual, recommending their songs and detailing the meaning of lyrics. Korn es prácticamente la única banda que me faltaba por cubrir, pues ya todas pueden encontrarla por mis reseñas anteriores, no obstante, decidí dejarla de ultima por mero gusto personal, pues aunque reconozco que es una excelente agrupación que dejo muchísimas canciones tras su era dorada, debo confesar, que no es exactamente la que escogería para escuchar por todo el camino, esto claro, es mas una opinión personal, porque si somos objetivos, la verdad es que el éxito de Korn se nota bastante, por romper el molde en cuanto al Numb y a sus letras completamente alejadas de las demás, si examinamos su canción más famosa, Freak On a Leash, tendremos una muy buena vista previa de donde estamos navegando con sus canciones y letras en general, Freak On a Leash es un buen ejemplo, porque es una canción que tiene su letra basada en una critica la industria musical, llevada de la mano con una letra sombría, llegando a ser deprimente por momentos, tal vez a día de hoy se haga un poco raro la razón de tanto éxito con una banda que casi siempre se mantiene en este tono, pero lo que si es cierto, es que ese acompañamiento de acordes pesado con un cantante que de la nada te suelta un beatboxing, queda estupendo.
Korn is practically the only band that I had not covered yet, because you can all find it in my previous reviews, however, I decided to leave it last for mere personal taste, because although I recognize that it is an excellent group that left many songs after their golden era, I must confess that it is not exactly the one I would choose to listen to all the way, this of course, is more a personal opinion, because if we are objective, the truth is that the success of Korn is quite noticeable, for breaking the mold in terms of the Numb and their lyrics completely away from the others, If we examine their most famous song, Freak On a Leash, we will have a very good preview of where we are navigating with their songs and lyrics in general, Freak On a Leash is a good example, because it is a song that has its lyrics based on a criticism of the music industry, carried hand in hand with a gloomy lyrics, Maybe nowadays it's a little strange the reason for so much success with a band that almost always stays in this tone, but what is certain is that this heavy chord accompaniment with a singer that out of nowhere lets you beatboxing, it's great.
Otro gran ejemplo del porque esta banda la considero una de las mas turbias de su tiempo (y que fueron populares, pues turbias hay un montón) lo encontramos en la canción Falling Away from Me, que curiosamente, el vídeo oficial de Freak On a Leash esta conectado también con Falling Away from Me, pues este inicia donde termina el anterior, sin embargo, diría que esta letra es incluso mucho más oscura, pues trata el tema del maltrato infantil y especialmente, el como esto puede llevar a que se considere el suicidio como una posibilidad, como un escape, a tanto dolor infligido, si hay algo a lo que a Korn hay que aplaudirle, esa absoluta falta de temor a tratar temas muy jodidos y convertirlos en autenticas piezas con las que millones de almas pudieron identificarse en su momento, no me extraña que con el tiempo, se siga considerando como una pieza de muy alta estima por los fans de la banda.
Another great example of why I consider this band one of the most shady of their time (and that they were popular, because there are a lot of shady ones) can be found in the song Falling Away from Me, which curiously, the official video of Freak On a Leash is also connected to Falling Away from Me, because this one starts where the previous one ends, however, I would say that these lyrics are even much darker, as it deals with the issue of child abuse and especially, If there is something that Korn should be applauded for, that absolute lack of fear to deal with very fucked up topics and turn them into authentic pieces that millions of souls could identify with at the time, no wonder that with time, it is still considered as a piece of very high esteem by the fans of the band.

Ahora una cosa diferente son las que tienen mas reproducciones y vistas en You Tube, y otra cosa muy diferente son las que me suelo gustar a mi de la banda, una en especial con la que tengo especial apego, es con Evolution, una que me gustaba mucho en su tiempo mas que nada porque la colocaron en un AMV hace muchísimos años, que trataba de una anime que también me gustaba mucho, sin embargo, con el tiempo me termino gustando mucho mas la canción sola, ganándose el derecho de pertenecer por un bueno periodo en mi lista de personal de música, volver a escuchar me trae varios recuerdos agradables, pese a que la propia canción, así como la banda misma, no tenga un tono feliz en casi ningún momento.
Now a different thing are the ones that have more reproductions and views in You Tube, and another very different thing are the ones that I usually like to me of the band, one in special with which I have special attachment, is with Evolution, one that I liked a lot in its time more than anything because they placed it in an AMV many, many years ago, which was about an anime that I also liked a lot, however, over time I ended up liking the song alone much more, earning the right to belong for a good period in my personal music list, listening to it again brings back several pleasant memories, even though the song itself, as well as the band itself, does not have a happy tone at almost any time.
Una en especial, que me parece ya depresiva en todo momento, es el Cover que la banda le hizo a uno de los temas de la mítica y legendaria Pink Floyd, respetando bastante la letra original por momentos, pero también tomándose algunas libertades para agregarle su característico sello sombrío, y déjenme decirles, que les quedo muy bien, tan bien que honestamente si estas pasando por un momento muy jodido en tu vida, por favor, no te recomiendo en absoluto que escuches esta canción, dependiendo de la causa de la tristeza personal de uno, este tema puede ser uno de los que mas tiene potencial de recordarte momentos que preferirías no recordar tan seguido, pero como siempre digo, tiene mucho valor que no hayan tenido problema en hacer esta versión y en lo personal, es una de las canciones que mas valoro de la banda, ya de por si me gustaba la original, así que tampoco era muy difícil que no lo hicieran bien para mi gusto.
One in particular, that seems to me already depressive at all times, is the Cover that the band did to one of the songs of the mythical and legendary Pink Floyd, respecting the original lyrics at times, but also taking some liberties to add their characteristic somber stamp, and let me tell you, that they did it very well, so well that honestly if you are going through a very fucked up moment in your life, please, I do not recommend you to listen to this song at all, depending on the cause of one's personal sadness, this song can be one of those that has the potential to remind you of moments that you would rather not remember so often, but as I always say, it is very valuable that they had no problem in doing this version and personally, it is one of the songs that I value the most of the band, I already liked the original, so it was not very difficult for them not to do it well for my taste.
¡Muchas gracias por haberme leido hoy, y haberse quedado a escuchar un poco de Korn! como dije al principio, no es exactamente que me encante el grupo, pero al cesar lo que es del cesar, es una de las agrupaciones que más dejaron en claro lo oscuro que se podían poner algunas letras, sin dejar de impactar con unos acordes pesados, algo de ayudas del Metal industrial, y con un cantante, que es la completa esencia de esta banda, espero de corazon que les haya gustado, nos vemos en una próxima oportunidad.
