¡Buenas mis panas amantes de la música! ¿Como están? Espero que de corazón muy bien, ¡Hoy es un día especial! Pues en mi vida pensé que iba a monetizar, nisiquiera un centavo, al hablar de una las bandas que más tiempo me acompaño durante mi adolescencia y que tristemente, desde su pico mas alto de fama, han perdido la fama que les precedió y en cierta manera, el toque que me gustaba tanto en aquellos años, sin embargo cuando estaban en su mejor momento, y sin duda, con sus mejores canciones reproducionedose en mi MP3, no podía parar de escucharlos y pronto verán las razones del porque, estoy seguro que a algunos les podrá sorprender esta banda, pues es autora de un par de temas que podrían considerarse iconos, en especial uno muy particular que apareció en cierta película, ¡Pero basta de misterios! ¡Comencemos hablando de Dope! una banda que dejo grandes temazos para el recuerdo.

Well, in my life I thought I was going to monetize, not even a penny, when talking about one of the bands that accompanied me the longest during my adolescence and that sadly, since their highest peak of fame, have lost the fame that preceded them and in a way, the touch that I liked so much in those years, however when they were at their best, and without a doubt, with their best songs playing on my MP3, I couldn't stop listening to them and soon you will see the reasons why, I'm sure some of you may be surprised by this band, as they are the author of a couple of songs that could be considered icons, especially a very particular one that appeared in a certain movie, but enough of mysteries! Let's start talking about Dope! a band that left great songs to remember.

En 1999 Felons and Revolucionaries es publicado por la banda, y desde el primer momento, conoceríamos el estilo y más importante, la voz líder del grupo, Edsel Dope, líder indiscutible de la banda y su hermano, integrante en los primeros discos que se grabaron, el tono que tenían en su primer disco era oscuro, lleno de rencor y odio en sus letras que según se dice, estaba orientado a su familia disfuncional y a los problemas que Edsel y su hermano pasaron cuando eran niños, combinamos con esto el ritmo pesado, la batería esplendida y todas oscuras letras, tuvieron un buen despegue que poco a poco los posicionaría como una banda a tener en cuenta, probablemente se sorprendan, una de sus canciones, aparecerá en una escena muy iconica de una franquicia hoy sobre explotada, pero que en su momento era considerada como una obra maestra de la conducción callejera, si tienen buena memoria, quizás la recuerden.

En 2001, aparece Life en la discográfica de la banda, con estilo bastante parecido al de Felongs and Revolutionaries, pero también con diferencias, con un estilo más influenciado por el tremendo auge del Nu-metal, sin dejar de tener sus tendecias hacia el metal industrial de vez en cuando y unas letras que si bien seguían siendo bastante agresivas en algunas canciones, creo que en este album se puede apreciar un poco más la calidad de la voz, el talento de la guitarra y la batería de la banda, Life es un Album que si bien no le fue tan bien a nivel de ventas si contiene muchas canciones que podrían incluirse en cualquier lista de alguien que le guste el Rock pesado o hasta el metal, la voz de Edsel además, demostraba que era capaz de cantar en tonos bastante agresivos y graves, cosa que le hizo hacerse bastante querido en los conciertos y en las giras que dio a los fans de la banda si hay una canción que merece ser nombrada, es With or Without You canción que fue critica y etiquetada como monotoma y aburrida cosa en la que no podría estar más en desacuerdo.

De lo más extremo a lo más melódico

en 2003, sale Group Therapy, un álbum muy especial porque abarca una cantidad variada de géneros, estilos e incluso formas de cantar, en este album se pueden encontrar canciones que emiten un profundo odio y rechazo a las personas o al propio sistema, prácticamente con sembrando un tono anárquico, y al mismo tiempo, se pueden encontrar las canciones mas melódicas de la banda, casi como estuviéramos hablando de un metal alternativo combinado con un tono reflexivo que eventualmente se endurece un poco en sus letras, pero sin dejar de ser totalmente diferentes a lo que la banda había mostrado hasta ese entonces, puede que a algunos les llegue a molestar la inconsistencia saltando entre canción y canción, pero por otra lado, aisladas, son unos temazos que tranquilamente están entre las mejores piezas de la banda, Group Therapy tambien ayudo a cimentar más la imagen de Dope siendo utilizadas sus canciones para algunos eventos, videojuegos y algunas series y películas, no ha un nivel extraordinario, pero si les brindo exposición, hay muchas canciones que me encantan de este album pero con el permiso de Burn, me quedo con la pieza titulada, Today Is The Day, donde ese manejo de guitarra casi al final de la canción me conquisto durante años.
in 2003, Group Therapy is released, a very special album because it covers a varied amount of genres, styles and even ways of singing, in this album you can find songs that emit a deep hate and rejection to people or to the system itself, practically sowing an anarchic tone, and at the same time, you can find the most melodic songs of the band, almost like we are talking about an alternative metal combined with a reflective tone that eventually hardens a little in their lyrics, but still being totally different to what the band had shown until then, some may be annoyed by the inconsistency jumping from song to song, but on the other hand, isolated, they are great songs that are quietly among the best pieces of the band, Group Therapy also helped to further cement the image of Dope being used their songs for some events, video games and some series and movies, There are many songs that I love from this album but with the permission of Burn, I'll take the piece titled, Today Is The Day, where that guitar handling almost at the end of the song conquered me for years.

Con un éxito más consolidado y ganándose una buena reputación en su tierra natal, en 2005 sale American Apathy, un disco con claras tendencias anti sistema, moderadamente más pesado que su anterior disco y recopilando algunas canciones del pasado para volver a grabarlas en este album, si me preguntan, se parece bastante a su primer disco, pero en una versión mejorada y con letras más violentas y rencorosas, además añadiendo los clasicos de la banda en versiones más exclusivas, este de lejos, fue el verdadero punto más alto de la Dope, vendiendo muchísimas copias por toda su nación y dejando economicamente bastante resuelto a la banda en si al menos por algunos años, creo que la canción original que mas gusta es I'm Back y Bastard para mis gusto personal.
With a more consolidated success and gaining a good reputation in their homeland, in 2005 American Apathy is released, an album with clear anti system tendencies, moderately heavier than their previous album and compiling some songs from the past to re-record them in this album, if you ask me, it's quite similar to their first album, but in an improved version and with more violent and rancorous lyrics, also adding the band's classics in more exclusive versions, this by far, was the real high point of the Dope, selling a lot of copies all over their nation and leaving economically quite solved the band itself at least for some years, I think the original song that I like the most is I'm Back and Bastard for my personal taste.

Después del buen éxito con American Apathy la banda hizo un sin fin de giras por todo el país, recolectando seguidores y amasando fama y reconocimiento, pese a que nunca terminaron de desarrollarse como una banda de las "grandes" no dejaron de destacar, especialmente en sus conciertos, a partir del 2009, saldría su ultimo álbum en la década de los 2000s, llamado No Regrets, en esta llevarían el estilo de Dope a un genero con el cual habían coqueteado en algunas de sus canciones pero que nunca había sido parte principal de algunos de discos, en este caso, hablo del Speed Metal, canciones como Nothing For Me Here, ejemplifican bien todo lo que el album transmite, y sin embargo la canción que mas me marco y considerada por mi una de mis favoritas de toda la vida, es My Funeral, que tambien encaja en el propio genero, pero que tiene un inicio bastante calmado, solo para ir con todo al final de la pista, canciones así siempre me han terminado gustando bastante basta,te sobretodo cuando se trata del Rock y el Metal, desde este Album en adelante, le perdí la pista a la banda, sobretodo porque en su regreso, después de una larga pausa, no me gustaron varias de las pistas que habían sacado en su Album posterior llamado Blood Money, desde entonces, decidí quedarme solo con las canciones que más me gustaron en mi etapa más juvenil y hasta el sol de hoy, em siguen encantando estas canciones :) ¿Diganme ustedes, conocían esta banda?
After the good success with American Apathy the band toured all over the country, collecting followers and amassing fame and recognition, even though they never finished developing as a "big" band they never stopped standing out, especially in their concerts, from 2009, their last album in the decade of the 2000s would be released, called No Regrets, in this one they would take the style of Dope to a genre with which they had flirted in some of their songs but that had never been a main part of some of their albums, in this case, I am talking about Speed Metal, songs like Nothing For Me Here, exemplify well everything that the album transmits, and yet the song that most marked me and considered by me one of my favorites of all my life, is My Funeral, which also fits in the genre itself, but has a fairly calm start, only to go all out at the end of the track, songs like this have always ended up liking me enough, especially when it comes to Rock and Metal, from this album on, I lost track of the band, especially because when they came back, after a long break, I didn't like some of the tracks they had released in their later album called Blood Money, since then, I decided to stick to the songs I liked the most in my youth and I still love these songs to this day: ) Tell me, did you know this band?
