The Blocktunes app is a pleasant surprise

I've been following the Blocktunes project for a while, kind of waiting for a better way to post music on the blockchain but wasn't quite convinced. That was until my last login when I came across a fully redesigned dapp that is both elegant and functional.

After some reading and doing the corresponding tasks, I was able to mint my first audio on the platform, which was already great as I was just happy to be able to share the music. But the satisfaction was even greater when I received 0.1 Hive because someone listened to my song on the platform.

Theres' the library, which can also be explored through tags. For now, the catalog is limited but I'm sure it will expand soon

I started browsing and realized that there were few musicians posting on the app, and I knew I had to get to doing some promotion as I have already listened to many talented artists here on Hive. It was disappointing to not find them there as I prefer listening to audios rather than watching videos.

Of course you have your profile page that is very similar to the other Hive frontends but with the wonderful feat of having a Music tab, where all o your mints are displayed.

This is interesting from the rewards perspective as you can get evergreen rewards, both as an artist or as a holder of someone else's music. If you believe in a recording/artist and it is for sale, you can buy a copy for yourself, which will grant you rewards every time it is played.

Then we have the "bars" which is the microblogging area of the app.

The most surprising Addition to the app Is the integrated studio Which offers several tools to create music, lyrics, cover Art and mastering your Reccording. Here, you Can also mint your reccording And turn them into NFTs.

Blocktunes has an integrated player to listen to the tracks you like while you blog and interact on the chain. There's also a few studio tools to master your recordings, create lyrics and music with AI, and mint your finished works.

To start minting there are some fees but you can get all the details here: https://app.blocktunes.net/subscribe

On the downside of the app is that you can't download the music nor create Playlists yet. I'm sure these feats will come in time so that it is a perfect app for people who love music, which should be the goal of such projects I hope.

For now, it is a good thing to say that we have a music dapp on Hive and I hope all music lovers start gathering there to share some wonderful vibrations and sounds soundscapes to make life each day more enjoyable. Thanks to the @blocktunes team for the awesome work and moving forward with the project, despite the current economic situation of crypto.

Oh wow, this is some epic development right there! En el Bosque sounds pretty cool, and now I'm thinking what can I do to support it? Did you just receive an additional 0.1 HIVE because I listened to it? What is this whole Master thing, or being the holder of some music? Is that the equivalent of me buying your recording? Would I be sharing your music, and we both earn from it?

Hahaha, as you can see, I still need to get my head around it. And though I'm not a musician, I do appreciate music, and want to get involved. The nice thing is, with your help as the musician, I can try these features and see where it takes me. I'm quite excited!

Glad to feel your excitement! Yeah, each time you listen the author gets 0.1 Hive if they are the only holder, but its possible to mint more copies and then theres a distribution for the holders as well, so yes, we can both earn from my music.

Really cool that you want to get involved, if you don't mind, I'd like to tag you each time I post something music related so that you can be up to date

Thanks for the write up! Glad you are enjoying the new platform.

As far as playlists... There is a plus button (+) on each audio card/list item that lets you add it to a queue, you can also click on a genre tag or listen to a specific aritst by using the search tools on the listen page. An official playlist function is in the plans, but we really need a much bigger library to make it properly usable.

Then with downloads, if you purchase an addition, you will have the ability to see the IPFS link which will allow you to download the track. This is a protection measure.

Hey, sorry I didn't notice these details. I hope to keep writing more promotion posts for Blocktunes in the future and see it soar into the skies

That's what we need is true user and community growth. Don't forget to check out and get your referral link so when you do meet artists and they sign up and start minting, you can cash in on a bit of that too!
