Excélsior es una academia de Música académica y Canto Lirico con el fin de crear una Compañía de Opera y Orquesta de Cámara, siendo la primera en el Estado Monagas, su objetivo es promover la Cultura Clásica académica musical en el estado y una educación vocal saludable y de excelencia.

Excélsior is an academy of Academic Music and Lyric Singing with the purpose of creating an Opera Company and Chamber Orchestra, being the first one in the State of Monagas, its objective is to promote the Classical Academic Musical Culture in the state and a healthy and excellent vocal education.

Excelsior se creó en 2019 comenzó con tres cantantes y un pianista, fueron invitados a la apertura de una charla de negocios para ambientar el sitio con tres canciones de repertorio popular; “O Sole Mio – Eduardo di Capua y Alfredo Mazzucchi”, “Vivo por ella – Andrea Bocelli” y “Feeling Good – Nina Simone”. El evento se llevó acabo con alrededor de 600 personas, esto nos motivó a planificarnos para hacer más eventos o conciertos para el público del estado. Sin embargo, en enero de 2020 se declaró estado de emergencia a nivel mundial a causa de la pandemia del COVID-19.

Excelsior was created in 2019 started with three singers and a pianist, they were invited to the opening of a business talk to set the site with three songs of popular repertoire; "O Sole Mio - Eduardo di Capua and Alfredo Mazzucchi", "Vivo por ella - Andrea Bocelli" and "Feeling Good - Nina Simone". The event was held with about 600 people, this motivated us to plan to do more events or concerts for the public of the state. However, in January 2020 a worldwide state of emergency was declared due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nuestras actividades de reanudaron en 2022 aun en pandemia, pero con un poco más de calma, al menos en la zona donde vivimos. Fuimos invitados en marzo al concierto sacro de Semana Santa de la Orquesta Juvenil del Municipio Caripe de Monagas. Un municipio muy bonito por sus paisajes, su flora y su clima, pero lo que realmente nos gustó y nos dio impulso luego de estar dos años en casa fue su gente, personas que se levantaban de sus asientos para aplaudir, gente que iba a escuchar el concierto vestida de gala, quizás sea obvio en otros sitios o culturas, pero aquí eso es muy escaso.

Our activities resumed in 2022 still in pandemic, but with a little more calm, at least in the area where we live. We were invited in March to the Holy Week concert of the Youth Orchestra of the Municipality of Caripe de Monagas. A very beautiful municipality for its landscapes, its flora and its climate, but what we really liked and gave us a boost after two years at home was its people, people who got up from their seats to applaud, people who went to listen to the concert dressed up, perhaps it is obvious in other places or cultures, but here that is very scarce.

Para este evento se interpretó parte del Réquiem de Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Dies Irae, Lacrimosa, Ave verum corpus, y otras piezas de repertorio de oratorio como Ave Maria – Rombi, Salmo 150 – Ernani Aguiar y Hallellujah – Haendel.

For this event, part of the Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Dies Irae, Lacrimosa, Ave verum corpus, and other pieces from the oratorio repertoire such as Ave Maria - Rombi, Psalm 150 - Ernani Aguiar and Hallellujah - Haendel were performed.

Luego del evento de semana santa varios de los muchachos de la orquesta quisieron unirse al proyecto, fue allí donde se nos ocurrió la idea de hacer un evento con entradas pagas a beneficio de la Escuela de Música donde trabajaba la Profesora de Canto del Grupo Verónica Mejía. El evento se llevó a cabo, se vendieron alrededor de cincuenta entradas, no muchas, pero gracias a los patrocinantes pudimos cubrir gran parte de la logística del evento.

After the Holy Week event several of the boys of the orchestra wanted to join the project, it was there where we came up with the idea of doing an event with paid tickets to benefit the Music School where the Group's Singing Teacher Veronica Mejia worked. The event took place, about fifty tickets were sold, not many, but thanks to the sponsors we were able to cover much of the logistics of the event.

Para Julio de ese mismo año dos de los estudiantes participaron en la Gala de fin de año de la Escuela de música José Gabriel Nuñez Romberg. In July of the same year, two of the students participated in the end of the year Gala of the José Gabriel Nuñez Romberg Music School. En diciembre uno de los muchachos de la Orquesta nos convenció de hacer una Gala de música Napolitana y algunas piezas corales en la misma iglesia de Caripe en la que habíamos sido invitados para el evento de Semana Santa, preparamos folletos, buscamos patrocinantes, hicimos sorteos para recaudar fondos y al final fue nuestra primera pequeña gran Gala Napolitana

In December one of the guys from the Orchestra convinced us to do a Gala of Neapolitan music and some choral pieces in the same church in Caripe where we had been invited for the Easter event, we prepared brochures, looked for sponsors, did raffles to raise funds and in the end it was our first great little Neapolitan Gala.

El año 2023 repetimos la misma fórmula para los eventos, realizamos un concierto de repertorio sacro en semana santa pero esta vez tratando de abarcar el Municipio Caripe y la Ciudad de Maturín interpretando la sección de Sequenz del Réquiem de Mozart, parte del Stabat Matter de Pergolesi y Hallellujah de Haendel, se supone que esta última no se canta en esa época del año por cuestiones religiosas pero las personas siempre la piden.

The year 2023 we repeated the same formula for the events, we performed a concert of sacred repertoire in Holy Week but this time trying to cover the Municipality Caripe and the City of Maturin interpreting the Sequenz section of Mozart's Requiem, part of Pergolesi's Stabat Matter and Handel's Hallellujah, the latter is not supposed to be sung at that time of the year for religious reasons but people always ask for it.

Así mismo en diciembre volvimos a hacer una Gala Napolitana con un grupo incluso más grande músicos, la logística se nos fue de las manos, conseguimos transporte, comida, hospedaje, todo gracias a patrocinantes, miembros de Excélsior o personas de la comunidad que querían colaborar para que el concierto se llevara a cabo.

Likewise in December we returned to do a Neapolitan Gala with an even larger group of musicians, the logistics were out of our hands, we got transportation, food, lodging, all thanks to sponsors, members of Excelsior or people in the community who wanted to collaborate to make the concert happen.

Para este año tenemos otros conciertos programados, como es costumbre este mes tendremos dos conciertos sacros en el Municipio Caripe en dos Iglesias, aún estamos buscando patrocinantes y estamos en periodo de ensayos, toda la información y videos los pueden conseguir en nuestras redes sociales;
