Yes! we went back to Krakow, but this time it was a little different, because by chance we went to Kazimierz or Jewish quarter of Krakow and it was quite interesting, especially because it was the first time we were there or well it was the first time for me in that part of the neighborhood and I enjoyed it very much. We arrived there because my husband told me the night before to look for some hotel to spend the next night there and without much thinking (because he had no time) I found Armon Residence and he in the morning without seeing much booked it, and I must confess that we loved this place and we had a great time there. Even we were not even sure if we would go, but it was Sunday (day off) that means we had to go for a walk, so we went back by train.

When we arrived in Krakow the first thing we did was to go for a drink because it was a very hot day. Then we went in search of our hotel to leave a couple of things from our backpack because it was very heavy and also to relax a little bit and as we were getting closer to the hotel, we saw the historical and interesting Jewish quarter, in fact we also saw some men dressed as Jews because in the evening there was a concert and they were getting ready and it was quite interesting because I didn't know that they dressed like that. I loved the cool cobblestone street although my husband not so much because driving Olivia's stroller there was not very comfortable hahaha.

And yes, the one you saw above with a front with lots of nature is our hotel that I definitely recommend, good price, very comfortable and also one thing I like is that you take care of yourself because they leave you the instructions in the booking application. We had two small beds and a sofa bed that Olivia loved and there we slept together, we also had air conditioning, an electric kettle with things available to prepare coffee or tea, desk, TV and everything you need, plus a very good location near the city center, but if you want another hotel do not worry because there are several here.

After the short break, we went to continue walking because we did not go to rest, we went for a walk hahaha. I really liked this neighborhood, there are many interesting things full of history, several restaurants, including one with Israeli food, we also saw an Irish bar, we also passed by a place where was the old train station and now there are bars and the engineering museum but at that time it was closed. We went back to the previous bar Mleczarnia which was full of people but luckily when we arrived some people vacated a table so we could sit and have a drink and we got a nice table with a roof because it started to rain for a while and Olivia didn't get wet.

There is also the Corpus Christi basilica which by the way we were able to go inside and see and it is very beautiful. Further down you can see the Jewish food market where there are several trailers with different food sales that I will show you in another post. A very nice mural that remembers some famous people from Kazimierz that by the way in the center there is a very nice restaurant with nature as decoration and you know I love places like that. And below the famous Wolnica Square where we went back to eat the delicious pasta at ciao pastabar, but this time we tried the pasta ragu and although it did not surprise us as the carbonara, it was also delicious.

We also went to the building with a circular floor plan or where there are only zapiekanka sales restaurants located in the center of the new square or also known as Jewish square, by the way there were several people eating there and I find it interesting that you know in which of all the places to eat zapiekanka. Ok, as I understood, Kazimierz was an independent village where some Jews already lived, then it became a neighborhood of Krakow. Jews were obliged to move there and then later this became the de facto Hebrew center of Krakow.

And after so much walking and seeing, we went back to the hotel and when it got dark we went to listen to a little bit of the Jewish concert in the Szeroka street or Jewish center of Kazimierz, there are several synagogues there. We sat outside in a hotel bar to have a drink while we watched the concert which was quite interesting, although the truth is I don't know much or anything about the Jewish religion, there were many people enjoying the concert, later they lit a bonfire and finally the concert was over and we went back to the hotel to rest, but we certainly had a great time there and I recommend you to visit this place that is full of history.

What? You stayed in Kazimierz? We were there too! When me and my wife lived in Krakow, one of the apartments that we rented was in a lovely historic house right on the Plac Nowy square. We liked it very much and ended up staying for some 7 months in that apartment. I´m still in touch with the landlords so I asked them if they have any apartment available for the weekend (they actually own the entire house, you can find them as "Green Apartments" on Airbnb or Facebook) and they had one so I booked it right away :) It was so cool to be able to show my mum and sister all our favorite places in the neighborhood and even the house itself :) In my opinion, Kazimierz is the most interesting, impressive and vibrant part of the city and I really love it there. Let me just correct one thing here. Kazimierz was the original Jewish Quarter where the Jews lived happily and voluntarily before the war. During the war, a ghetto was created for them in the nearby neigborhood called Podgorze. They had to leave their houses and everything in Kazimierz and move to the ghetto. From there, they were transported to concentration camps. Very sad history. There are several museums in Krakow where you can learn more about it.

Hola amigo! Yes, we were there by chance, as the place we booked quickly was staying there. I just looked for the one you mentioned and loved it! It's bigger but I see they are sold out, when we have plans to go back to Krakow I'm going to look for it again and hopefully we can book.

I so agree with you about Kazimierz, it is breathtaking!

Ohhh thanks for the correction, actually the little I knew is because I googled at the time to read because it seemed so interesting but I see I misread hahaha. Thank you my friend!

By the way, I was hoping to say hello to you in Krakow quickly 🤗🤗.

Yes, try to contact them next time. The apartments are managed by Ewa and her husband, lovely people. And the apartments are just fantastic, right in the heart of Kazimierz :)

I knooow my friend, I would love to meet you guys too but our itinerary was very busy :( On Sunday morning (when you came to Krakow) we went to the Zakrzowek Quarry (I must admit it looks very nice after the reconstruction, see below) and then, we took Bolt to the botanical garden and from there, we rushed to the bus station and went back home. There was really no time to see guys this time, I´m sorry :( But I´m sure we will find some opportunity to meet up again, no worries ;) We live close to each other now ;)

Of course I will! 🤗

Wuao that picture looks beautiful! And yes, it does sound pretty busy. Don't worry my friend, I understand and I knew it. I'm sure we'll find the opportunity someday since we're not that far away 🤗 greetings and kisses to Florecita and her mom ❤️
