Weekend Concert

One of the artistic forms I enjoy most is music, because it brings me a very positive feeling of well-being. That's why, whenever I have the opportunity, I participate in concerts given by musicians and performers from our country or from other countries who come to share their music and art with us in this part of the world.

A few days ago, I attended a concert by one of our country's most important musicians, and I truly heard good music, danced, sang along with the musician, and had a lot of fun, something we sorely need amidst so many irregularities and economic difficulties.

The concert took place at the Karl Marx Theater and was a packed house enjoyed by Alain Pérez, one of Cuba's most important musicians.

I confess that whenever I see a performance by this musician, I am always pleased by his musical quality, his mastery of the bass, the electric guitar, and the piano. However, he also plays percussion instruments like the drums and wind instruments like the trumpet.

However, what I liked most was his respect for the audience and the quality of the show.

I'll tell you that I went with a friend, and we arrived early because we didn't have tickets and had to buy them before entering.

The concert was scheduled to start at 9 p.m., and we entered the theater at 8 p.m. Unlike other concerts I've attended, this one started right on schedule, with the introduction of the show and a mention to his mother, who was in the front row enjoying her son's music and his vocal and dance talent, as well as his command of the stage.

Another aspect I liked was the repertoire selection, combining songs from his new album, "Bingo," with other songs he's made famous, and classic songs by Cuban musicians of all time.

I took the photos with my Samsung Galaxy phone.
