Hive Open Mic Week 189| Coat of Many Colour by Dolly Parton
Hola, chicos.
The theme my perception is a very unique one and I appreciate @gemafreya1234 in a very special way for coming up with that. That being said, I will be responding to that beautiful theme with the song Coat of Many Colours by Dolly Parton.
Every human person have a unique way he/she perceive things. These perceptions are as a result of one status, lifestyle, privileges, immediate environment, friends, family and so on. In short, there are multiple things that influence our perception as individuals and that's we are unique in ourselves.
Being a poor child from a humble family, Dolly Parton (in her song: Coat of Many Colours) perceived life differently from every other child that was in her school. Putting on the cloth of many colour that was made of rags by her mother, Dolly Parton felt she was the most dressed among the students. She believed her cloth of many colour worth more than every of their cloth, and that simply was a perception.
Doing this wonderful song this week, I wish first to shear the story of the poor little Dolly Parton with you guys. I also wish to shear my perception of humanity with you guys. For the sake of humanity, love is all that matters. The poor little Dolly Parton had lots of love inside of her. It was love that made her cherish a cloth that was made of rags by her mother. It was the love that made her took her time to tell the story behind her cloth of many colour to the same students who laughed at her. It was all love. And if the student had as much love as she had in them, they would not have laughed at her. As parents and guidances, we've got to start teaching love to our kids. Just like said earlier, love is all that matter.
Back through the years I go wanderin' once again
Back to the seasons of my youth
I recall a box of rags that someone gave us
And how my momma put the rags to use
There were rags of many colors
But every piece was small
And I didn't have a coat
And it was way down in the fall
Momma sewed the rags together
Sewin' every piece with love
She made my coat of many colors
That I was so proud of
As she sewed, she told a story
From The Bible, she had read
About a coat of many colors
Joseph wore and then she said
"Perhaps this coat will bring you
Good luck and happiness"
And I just couldn't wait to wear it
And momma blessed it with a kiss
My coat of many colors
That my momma made for me
Made only from rags
But I wore it so proudly
Although we had no money
Oh, I was rich as I could be
In my coat of many colors
My momma made for me
So with patches on my britches
And holes in both my shoes
In my coat of many colors
I hurried off to school
Just to find the others laughing
And making fun of me
And my coat of many colors
My momma made for me
And oh I couldn't understand it
For I felt I was rich
And I told them of the love
My momma sewed in every stitch
And I told 'em all the story
Momma told me while she sewed
And how my coat of many colors
Was worth more than all their clothes
But they didn't understand it
And I tried to make them see
That one is only poor
Only if they choose to be
Now I know we had no money
But I was rich as I could be
In my coat of many colors
My momma made for me
Made just for me
