The human person cannot be completely trusted. People change, and the most trusted allies can disappoint. That for me is not enough reason to stop loving. All one can do is to take caution and to be conscious of the fact that anyone can disappoint

People do change, yes. But the least we can do is to guard our hearts and be vigilant so as not to be disappointed in the end, that's all!
