LYRICS VS INSTRUMENTALS

Everything about a good song is beautiful. Just as lyrics sends a message, the instrumental of a song also have lots of story to tell. As a matter of fact, a pure instrumental music could have a more crucial message to send across than a song that have got lyrics. All one need to do is to play the right music at the right time.

I have encountered situations where people bitterly complain about songs not having meaningful lyrics, in most cases these complaints are being made by older people who completely do not understand the musical style of the time. It could even be the case that they do not entirely understand the lyrics of the song in question. Music for me should not be judged with regards to lyrics alone as it is a combination of both lyrics and the instrumentals with which it was produced. No matter how awful a lyrics or an instrumental sound, it has it purpose to serve.

Every writer, producer or even performer have a story to tell. In most cases people tend to believe that musical messages can only to be sent through the lyrics, but that is certainly not the case. The instrument as well as the instrumentalist are very crucial to a music. As a matter of fact either the instrumental or the voice is enough to pass the message of the writer, producer or performer. If one is to judge a music then, it must be a wholistic judgement. A music should be judged with regards to both the instrumental, the vocals and every other thing that might be a part of the music.

It is completely out of place for someone to condemn a music either based on the lyrics or the instrumentals. Personality I do not believe there could be a bad music, I do not support the condemnation of any music no matter the style or genre. Every musician have a story to tell, it doesn't matter the medium with which the story is being told. It could even be said on this note that both instruments and voice are only medium with which the musician sends his/her message. They are neither the music nor the message, it is then left for the listener to pay attention to the musician holistically so as to understand the message that it brings.

There are no lyrics or instrumental that does not bear message, all one need to do is to make sure he/she is listening to the right music. If it be the case then that you detest a particular instrumental or vocals, it could just be that you are not the right audience for the music in question. Some music are awful to the ear of the listener not because they are really awful, but because they are not being played to the right audience. In this matter, I do not speak with regards to music produced with less effort. I am speaking with reference to musical style and genre. If it be the case then that a music produced either by a particular artist or as a particular genre do not interest you, it is completely out of place to condemn the music in question on that bases.

Yeah, though I do like music with great lyrics, I do understand the need for the instruments. It is one of the driving forces that gears us toward dancing.
