KARMA
The most prominent adage to support karma is the saying, "what goes around comes around". I will simply say that it does not entirely apply; what goes around sometimes fails to come around. People have had to pay for their bad deeds, but it is never sufficient to align with the laws of karma. Justice is sometimes at play in this kind of situation. I believe in justice, but it can only be passed on those whom the law finds wanting. Even within the scope of the law, the possibility of evil cannot be excluded. It is then believed that Karma has a way of catching up with evil-doers whom the law may have missed. For so many reasons, I simply choose to think otherwise.
Another adage that kind of supports karma is the saying, 'Every day for the thief, one day for the owner.' The song 'Everyday' by Cobhams, Sound Sultan and Bez kind of elaborates on this adage. The song in question is no doubt one of my best, not just because of its beautiful lyrics, but mainly because of its amazing instrumental.
In truth, it is not always happy ever after. Not every evil deed will be repaid, and karma is probably not real. As a matter of fact, the one day that is supposed to be for the owner of the house may never come. It is of great importance that we face our reality whenever we have been played, scammed, robbed, or cheated. As much as possible, we should seek justice. But when it goes beyond what the law can handle, it is probably true that there is nothing we can do. In such a case, we must face our sad reality.
I have watched people get away with their evil deeds simply because they are powerful. It is consoling to believe that Karma will catch up with them, but it may never. I guess the idea of karma is not entirely useless afterall. The whole idea of karma may never be true, but it probably brings some level of emotional support to those who believe in it.
