THE NEED FOR BALANCE

It is all about balance: being able to push against pressure and understanding that pressure is part of our existence at the same time. In their distinct characteristics, they are both important. The world might never see you if you decide to allow yourself to wallow in pressure; on the other hand, pushing more than you should might eventually break you. It is more like we are constantly striving to maintain balance, yet we never reach a state of absolute perfection.

This post was inspired by the song "Like You" by Tatiana Manaois. It has been a while since I have bumped into it on my playlist, which happened yesterday evening. Tatiana has always spoken words of great encouragement in her songs, but this particular one is very special to me. Even as you get up to make a move, knowing the world might never see you until you do, you must realise that you are not a perfect being and that you are doing enough. You should strive for perfection but should not wear yourself out, knowing that no one is ever perfect.

It is almost as if most of our time here on earth is characterised by struggle and the quest to become better. Inasmuch as it could be considered normal, we must also learn to look out for ourselves. Of course, the pressure can break you if you fail to realise that it is part of humanity. It is normal to be pressured by so many things, some of which are what society expects of us. Even as we strive to attain these things, we must realise that perfection is unattainable by anyone.

What a busy world, so busy that people do not really care. Everyone already has enough to worry about, so they do not pay attention to the worries of others. Everyone is so pressured, and fighting this pressure can be really draining. On the other hand, we must learn to appreciate ourselves. Unfortunately, most people care about so many things that they forget about themselves. They place too much effort on warding off the pressure, so they fail to understand that it is part of humanity; they fail to strike a balance.

Do not wait till you are broken completely; many of us are already broken enough that we need to hear these words from Tatiana, but we do not even realise it. You need to tell yourself more often that no one is perfect, and that you are doing enough. Yet, you must never stop striving to become a better version of yourself. It is always about balance; it is more about striving to maintain balance than becoming perfect. As you put in those efforts towards growth, you must not wear yourself out in the process.

If you are not yet in that state, do not get badly broken, so much so that you will need to be told to get up and make a move. Sometimes, being too hard on yourself can eventually put you in that state; learn to pay attention to yourself early enough. And it's all about balance.

Thank you so much, guys, for reading through to the end. I sincerely appreciate it.
