COMPATIBILITY IN RELATIONSHIP

In this part of the world, rich guys always have the ladies at their beck and call. Come to think of it, it might be the same in every other society. The criteria for love have now, for so many, been streamlined to materialism. I guess the high rate of breakup that has become the case in this generation of ours owes it to that. Mind you, I am not gender-specific here; the men too are guilty, probably more guilty. Of course, ladies have to deal with men flocking around them for no genuine reason more than men ever have to.

Love is a beautiful thing, but more beautiful when it is true. In all that you do, never pretend to be in love. In the words of Simi, love should not care. A true love should never prioritise one's status, beauty, wealth, or origin; if it does, then it is probably not true. I simply believe that people are massively getting it wrong when it comes to relationships, and that is no doubt telling on the society.

If it true love, you will know. And when it is, never give it up no matter the pressure. And most importantly, never lie to yourself when it has to do with matters of the heart.

You might call me old-fashioned, but I do not approve of being in a relationship with someone you cannot end up with. This is probably the reason why I have not been in more than one relationship throughout my lifetime. I simply believe that being in a relationship with someone you cannot end up with implies that you are in a relationship with someone you do not love. It might be the case that you desire the person in question for some selfish reason, but love is most likely far from what you share.

Some do not mind if they eventually end up with someone they do not love; that is, for me, the craziest decision one can ever make. In this part of the world, it is actually common, and it is always dismissed with the claim that they will grow to love each other. My opinion on this is straight to the point: why take such a risk when it can be avoided? It is better to stay single than to end up in a forever relationship void of love.

Love is quite a complex concept, and there are multiple definitions to it. Regardless of the numerous definitions, love can be attained when there is understanding. It is always better to talk about it, to talk about everything; they are all important. Realising how compatible you are with your partner has a lot to do with whether a relationship will work or not. It is not always love at first sight, but love can either come to being or grow if there is first an understanding.

There is nothing like growing to love each other when the partners are obviously not compatible. Make sure then that you have grown into loving each other before going into forever. And at that point when you realise that it will certainly not work, all you have to do is walk away. You have no reason to waste each other's time.
