Para los que no sepan, Imagine Dragons es un grupo muy humanitario, siempre apoyan las causas de los que más lo necesitan, y conocen de los padecimientos y trastornos mentales que podemos sufrir ya que sus integrantes también los padecen. Así que no fue una sorpresa para sus fanáticos que hicieran un vídeo de la canción Crushed, perteneciente a su último álbum de estudio llamado Mercury Act II, donde nos relatan y muestran la historia de un joven llamado Sasha que sobrevivió a la guerra entre Rusia y Ucrania. Él es un joven ucraniano que junto con su familia lo perdieron todo, su casa, sus cosas materiales y soportaron meses de bombardeos constantes. Hoy en día siguen con muchos problemas y carecen de varios servicios básicos que facilitan la vida.

For those who don't know, Imagine Dragons is a very humanitarian group, they always support the causes of those who need it most, and they know about the mental illnesses and disorders that we can suffer since their members also suffer from them. So it was not a surprise for their fans that they made a video for the song Crushed, from their latest studio album called Mercury Act II, where they tell and show us the story of a young man named Sasha who survived the war between Russia and Ukraine. He is a young Ukrainian who together with his family lost everything, their house, their material things and endured months of constant bombings. Today they still have many problems and lack several basic services that make life easier.

En el vídeo nos muestran en primer plano las consecuencias de los bombardeos, las casas destrozadas, las ciudades desiertas y en ruinas y los misiles aún allí, después del tiempo transcurrido. También nos enseñan primeros planos de la cara del joven en total desolación, no pudiendo entender lo que tuvo que vivir, como muchos de nosotros. No se entiende que sigan sucediendo este tipo de guerras hoy en día.

In the video they show us in close-up the consequences of the bombings, the destroyed houses, the deserted and ruined cities and the missiles still there, after the time elapsed. They also show us close-ups of the young man's face in total desolation, unable to understand what he had to live through, like many of us. It is incomprehensible that these kinds of wars continue to happen today.

Me parece que la canción acompaña muy bien el sentimiento que quieren transmitir, la letra siempre la tomé como una persona que padece depresión y tiene que enfrentar a sus demonios, lo único que quiere es alejarse y dejar de sentir ese vacío y angustia que la persiguen. Esto es lo que se logra transmitir con el vídeo, ese mismo sentimiento de angustia y desesperanza. La verdad que me conmovió muchísimo toda la apuesta en escena, los colores fríos entre grises y azulados, las tomas de la destrucción y los sentimientos que se reflejaban.

It seems to me that the song accompanies very well the feeling they want to convey, the lyrics I always took it as a person who suffers from depression and has to face her demons, the only thing she wants is to get away and stop feeling that emptiness and anguish that haunt her. This is what the video manages to convey, that same feeling of anguish and hopelessness. The truth is that I was very moved by the whole scene, the cold colors between gray and blue, the shots of the destruction and the feelings that were reflected.

Otra cosa para destacar es que a medida que avanza el vídeo nos van relatando con palabras la historia del joven, que también es la de otras miles de personas que sufren y viven lo mismo que él y su familia hoy en día. Al final hacen un llamado a la solidaridad diciéndonos que podemos donar a la causa y ayudarlos.

Another thing to highlight is that as the video progresses, they tell us in words the story of the young man, which is also the story of thousands of other people who suffer and live the same as him and his family today. At the end they make a call for solidarity telling us that we can donate to the cause and help them.

Me encanta esta banda porque ellos no buscan lo que se haga más viral para triunfar, son fieles a sus ideales y causas. Hacen música desde el corazón y sus vivencias. Hay un equilibrio entre lo que producen, sienten y quieren transmitir. Es una gran banda que los invito a qué escuchen si no los conocen. No se van a arrepentir.

I love this band because they don't look for the most viral thing to succeed, they are faithful to their ideals and causes. They make music from the heart and their experiences. There is a balance between what they produce, feel and want to transmit. It is a great band that I invite you to listen to if you don't know them. You will not regret it.
