Pink Floyd- The Wall 1979 and my Risingstar Report 11/21/2023

Pink Floyd The Wall, 1979 YouTube channel "Play Music"

Pink Floyd's the wall, and their movie of the same name are amazing, and inspired me to produce music and play it in college. There is something about this record that resonates with people in modern industrial socities and the existential euni they perceive.

Pink Floyd released their prog record "The Wall" at the end of the turbulent 1970s, and it is timely to this day. The album itself tells the story of a star who was impacted by World War II, and comes to the realization that his upbringing, the system and his stardom are abusive systems to oppress him and his generation.

The song "Brick in the Wall" tells the story about the way school molds children into cogs in the machine and how individuality is suppressed. The main character finds salvation after a breakdown and a revelation that life can be defined by oneself and one's art. In the same way, we need to define our goals and we need to avoid being absorbed into a meat grinding world and machine that uses us. The album is amazing, and you can listen to it for free.
