¡Hola, queridos amigos de la comunidad! Hoy me desperté con el sonido sabroso de la lluvia golpeando el techo de mi casa, una buena oportunidad muy perfecta para reflexionar y hacer música. Este clima parece ser la despedida para las chicharras, esos pequeños seres que con su canto constante nos anuncian el cambio de estaciones y que hoy culminan su corto pero sonoro ciclo de vida para anunciar que está cerca el invierno. Inspirado por esta melancolía natural, he decidido traerles una interpretación de un clásico de nuestra Venezuela: "El Sediento".Hello, dear friends of the community! Today I woke up to the pleasant sound of rain hitting the roof of my house, a very perfect and good opportunity to reflect and make music. This weather seems to be the farewell for the cicadas, those small beings that with their constant singing announce the change of seasons and that today culminate their short but sonorous life cycle to announce that winter is near. Inspired by this natural melancholy, I have decided to bring you a performance of a classic from our Venezuela: "The Thirsty One".
Esta canción pertenece a la pluma de Reynaldo Armas, "El Cardenal Sabanero", quien es sin duda uno de los pilares más respetable de nuestra música llanera. Aprovecho este espacio para enviarle mis mejores deseos y mucha fuerza, esperando que recupere su salud muy pronto para que podamos disfrutar nuevamente de su carisma y su voz en los escenarios. Su legado es inmenso y temas como este son prueba de su capacidad para conectar y llegar a la gente del pueblo venezolano.This song belongs to the pen of Reynaldo Armas, "The Cardenal Sabanero", who is undoubtedly one of the most respectable pillars of our llanera music. I take this opportunity to send him my best wishes and a lot of strength, hoping that he recovers his health very soon so that we can once again enjoy his charisma and his voice on stage. From the moment it was released, it positioned itself in the taste of criollo music lovers due to its very descriptive lyrics and its melody. It is a song that speaks of that deep infatuation, of that almost vital need to be close to the loved one, comparing desire with the most intense thirst.
Lo que más me cautiva de esta composición es la forma poética en la que se puede dedicar un sentimiento. En el llano, el amor se canta con la misma fuerza con la que se trabaja en la tierra. A través de estos versos, podemos expresar una admiración caballeresca y profunda hacia las dama, elevando el romance a un nivel superior. Es una canción para cerrar los ojos, escuchar el arpa (o en mi caso, el acompañamiento del cuatro) y dejarse llevar por la historia.What captivates me most about this composition is the poetic way in which a feeling can be dedicated. In the plains, love is sung with the same strength with which the land is worked. Through these verses, we can express a chivalrous and deep admiration towards ladies, elevating romance to a higher level. It is a song to close your eyes, listen to the harp (or in my case, the accompaniment of the cuatro), and let yourself be carried away by the story.
