Yesterday my mom called me and was like "Do you realize it's December 21st, when will you change my ringtone?" I laughed, collected the phone, and downloaded a very nice Christmas song for her then made it her ringtone. This old people with Christmas songs. Lol
Christmas is a very beautiful season, I love the joy I see on the faces of people as I move about in my community, and I wish it will continue like even after Christmas.
Music is an integral part of human life, wherever there seems to be boredom, introduce the right kind of music and you will be amazed how in no time it will turn around everything. Music can fit into whatever situation in our lives, it is just like a fuel that is always ready to boost any situation it is invited into. It has transformative power, this is why we must learn to always listen to the right kind of music.
Christmas is not complete if music is not involved, In those days while I was still growing up, we knew that Christmas was near when we started hearing Christmas songs, the Common one then was "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".
There are so many wonderful Christmas songs that make one feel the joy of the season, I have heard a lot of them over the years but it seems the ones of the 90s seem to make more sense to me than the contemporary ones.
I know our music now is advanced, it has improved in many ways but most of them on Christmas are boring to me. In fact, if you play them, I may not even know that it's a Christmas song unless I hear the word "Christmas" somewhere along the line.
But the ones of the 90's, just the instrumentals alone will tell you that this song is Christmas, the whole of your being can relate with what's going on in the song, you can feel the joy the singer is experiencing, you can easily connect.
One of the holiday songs that captured my heart so much is Hooray! Hooray! It's a Holi-Holiday by Boney M. It is a 1979 German single. I was surprised when I saw the year it was released, I was not even born then. If not that I researched the song today, all I was thinking is that it's one of our contemporary songs because of how evergreen the song is.
Every single year the song looks like it was just released yesterday. It's a song that talks about holidays, I know just like me most of you think it was released in December, but no! It was released on March 26th,1979. This got me thinking about whether the team sang it for Christmas or just for the holidays LoL
There was no single word like Christmas or New Year but once it's played, you know this one is talking about a special holiday. it's one of the songs that best gives me the holiday vibes. Anytime it's being played the first thing that comes to my mind is Christmas. Maybe it's because I heard so much of it while I was growing up on Christmas.

When I saw the date when the song was released I laughed. This song is wayyyy older than me so I think it’s okay if I don’t know it. I have probably heard it before just that I didn’t know the title. I’ll be sure to check it out tonight.😄

I don't know how they did it then but those songs from that time sound like new music with every time you hear them.

This Boney M song is one of my favorites, along with Rasputin, ma baker and Mary boy child. We had their album back when I was a kid and my mom played them a lot during Christmas, so hearing those songs instantly triggered past Christmas memories 😁 awesome choice
