Hello everyone, welcome to another round of Hive Music Festival. My name is @emmanuel50, and for this week 206 Round 2 I will be presenting my cover of “Adonai” by Nathaniel Bassey.
This is a song I really love because it has a simple sound, but the message inside it is very deep. The word Adonai means Lord, and when I sing this song, it reminds me of who God is and how worthy He is to be praised. The part that always touches me is where the song says, “From the rising of the sun to the setting of the same, Your Name is to be hallowed.” This is something I have learned from the song. From morning until evening, God deserves our praise. It is not only when things are going well that we should remember Him. Every day, every moment, His name is worthy to be honoured.
I also love how simple the song is. There are not too many words, but when you sing it with your heart, you can feel the worship in it. Sometimes, we don't need plenty of words before we can praise God. Just calling His name and giving Him honour can come from a very deep place in the heart.
I chose this song because I have always loved the way Nathaniel Bassey ministers songs of worship. There is something about this particular song that gives me a different feeling whenever I listen to it. The sound, the repetition, and the way the name Adonai keeps coming back make it easy for me to sing along and connect with the worship.
One thing I learned from this song is that praising God should not depend on our situation. Whether we are happy, tired, going through challenges, or experiencing good things, God is still God. His name remains holy. That is something I want to keep reminding myself. The song also teaches me about giving God His place. Sometimes, life can become so busy that we forget to stop and appreciate the One who gave us life in the first place. But when I sing “Adonai,” it makes me slow down and remember that everything I have comes from God.
I also love the atmosphere this song creates when I sing it. Even though the lyrics are simple, I don't feel like I am just singing another song. I feel like I am calling on God and giving Him honour. That is one of the reasons I wanted to bring this song to Hive Music Festival.
To me “Adonai” is more than just a song. It is a reminder that God's name is holy and He deserves our praise from the beginning of the day to the end of the day. Thank you so much for listening to my song cover. I hope this song blesses you and reminds you to give God praise in every situation.
