Hello, coffee community! My name is Elvira and I am a coffee lover.

My day always starts with coffee. One of the moments I enjoy most in the morning is when my husband wakes me up with freshly brewed coffee. My ideal breakfast has always been coffee with milk and toast with butter: coffee with milk, strong and crunchy toast.
Coffee is part of Cuban culture. There are those who do not start the day well if they do not have a hot cup in the morning. That little ritual of sitting down with the family, with cups together in front of you and watching them fill, feeling the smell fill the room, is incomparable. I cannot imagine Cuban culture without coffee.
Because of my work as a concert guitarist, I travel to provinces quite regularly and in all of them, the first thing I look for is where to have a good coffee. I know which are the best coffee shops and the places where they prepare the ones I like the most. Yes, because each province has different ways of preparing coffee. The one from Contramaestre doesn't taste the same as the one from Tunas or Santa Clara.
I like to discover new recipes, new flavors. The most recent one I discovered and brought home was vanilla coffee. I tried it at the AHS headquarters in Santa Clara and it marked a before and after. Today, whenever I can, I buy the jars of vanilla essence to prepare it. I recommend them to you. After the coffee pot has filtered, add a few drops of vanilla essence and voila!
Among those I also recommend are: with cinnamon, chocolate or nutmeg. These are some of the ones my friends enjoy when they come to visit my house. I never tell them which one I will prepare. I always leave it as a surprise for their palate.
