How can I forget being a teenager when girls, and even I myself, were obsessed with the duo's hit songs? Girls were smitten, and many of my childhood friends even had the singers' trendy hairstyles. They brought the magical world of salsa closer to young people, because they were a bridge that immersed us in a genre that is now a must-listen on our personal playlists…
Their beginnings with the “Salserín” orchestra in Venezuela were the first step in a career that quickly expanded beyond national borders. They displayed charisma, vocal harmony, and a connection with the public that foreshadowed their future stardom. It was in this context that Manuel Guerra, as producer and mentor, guided them in their first musical steps, helping them refine their sound and understand the workings of the industry.

Of these, in my opinion, "Casas de Cartón" stands out as particularly moving and sentimental.
Despite having a brilliant career with its ups and downs, we cannot deny the musical significance that keeps them relevant even today. Both remain active on social media and continue to produce albums as singers and producers (in the case of Servando and Sandino). While their work may not have achieved the same massive impact as in their heyday, it demonstrates artistic maturity and a highly acclaimed talent within the Latin music industry.

Luego de su separación con Salserín, el lanzamiento de su primer álbum con el grupo “Hecho a Mano” marcó un antes y un después. Canciones como “Una fan enamorada” de Ricardo Montaner resonaron en toda América Latina, consolidando un estilo, con letras emotivas y voces impecablemente entrelazadas. Simbolizando la unión de generaciones y estilos dentro del cancionero romántico hispano.
Son muchos los éxitos que tiene esta dupla: “Alíviame” “Te regalo la luna” “Una canción que te enamore” “Si yo fuera tú” entre muchas tantas que se escapan de menciones. Demás está decir la producción que hicieron junto a sus hermanos (Sandino y Juan Simón) en homenaje musical a su padre: Alí Primera, versionando clásicos como “Tin marín” “Casas de Cartón” “Canción mansa para un pueblo bravo” o “Coquivacoa” … De las cuales, desde mi apreciación “Casas de cartón” quedó muy emotiva y con fibra muy sentimental de dicha selección…
A pesar de tener una carrera brillante con altos y bajos, no podemos negar la trascendencia musical que, aún hoy día, los mantiene vigentes. Ambos siguen activos en redes sociales y continúan produciendo discos como cantantes y productores (En el caso de Servando y Sandino) que, si bien no alcanzan el mismo impacto masivo de su tiempo, demuestran madurez artística y un talento muy laureado en la industria musical latina.
