ThreeTuneTuesday || Adolescencia y rebeldía [ESP-ENG] by edwardstobia
Hola amigos || Hello friends
On this occasion I want to talk a little about me and how was my transformation, as Jack Black would say, to the school of rock. On certain occasions I have told you that I have an uncle who loves rock and that he introduced countless bands but even that liberal spirit of a teenager did not appear. This is the stage where many parents have the responsibility to face one of the hardest changes of a human being. It is the stage where we mark what we want to be in the future, our tastes and hobbies.
I certainly had a great musical influence at home. Especially when I was just peeking through that important door of life. School had a lot to do with that change from an innocent child to a somewhat rebellious teenager. Even more so when there was a girl in the middle. That is, some schoolmate that attracted me. Although in the end it was almost always a failure, I couldn't get her attention ha ha ha ha.... Things of life.
I was about 14 years old when I woke up that area of going to parties and making an appearance at the famous rock band shows in town. My sister introduced me to one of her friends who was the lead singer of one of the rock bands. That very night they made me feel accepted into their group of friends and things started to change. It was rock that I found when I opened that door.
At that time the Mtv television network was covering a pretty interesting musical era with a mix of pretty good rock and pop. Nothing to do with today. I clearly remember that in that stage I was going through I started listening to Korn, Pantera, Deftones, among others. Like anyone else I had my favorite songs and above all videos that was what the TV network Mtv transmitted. How can I forget that Top 100 where great rock bands of the time were placed. Bands like, for example: Oasis, Matallica, U2, who doesn't remember No doubt with their classic Don't speak. Or Marilyn Manson himself, who was for a long time one of my favorite artists. Yes, I'm sure you'll say, he was crazy ha ha ha ha.... Now he sings pure spite ha ha ha ha ha.... But yes, this was me when I was 14 years old.
If I keep writing I'll make a book and that's not what we want. So let's get down to business and let's have some fun with the rock of the 90s. Here I will share some songs that I still consider my favorites from those great bands. Let's start with:
This was undoubtedly a song that drove that rebelliousness. How not to remember this excellent song, those drums at the beginning and the ripped and distorted guitars with rage, with a totally diabolic attitude. Worthy of a character like Marilyn Manson. The Beautiful People is one more of the rock anthems.
Another song that accompanied me a lot and where I felt identified by the melody, by the musical work of the band. It was not easy to get something like them, they are unique in this genre, very original. When I listened to My Own Summer it was like going on an emotional journey, of facing my fears, of saying enough is enough. Still today I find the musical proposal they managed to present very interesting. Today remembering these songs I sincerely feel a bit sentimental.
I had the joy of listening to this band in Venezuela when they managed to come to the Caracas Pop Festival in 2002 and I must say that when they started with this song, it was like an indelible mark for me. Are you ready?" is one of the most representative phrases not only of Korn, but of nu-metal in general. And at that time I was listening to the band of the moment. It was quite an experience since I went without my parents' permission to the concert. In short, I ran away from home. At that time the adrenaline was running high but now that I'm a little more mature I see how little awareness I had. What's past is past.
That's all for today and it has been a pleasure to share with you some of my tastes when I was a teenager. And well, not only that, but also a little bit of me. As always, I was very pleased to share in this initiative of my friend @ablaze and with you. I'm sure we'll see you next #ThreeTuneTuesday.
me despido, mi querida familia.

Great choices! Lucky enough to have seen KoRn and Deftones live several times and they never disappoint!
Brother that's right, they never disappoint. On the contrary, the affection increases 🤟🏼
Muy buen post!!! El rok es de lo mejor
Nada mejor que eso 😁🤟🏼
Hey friend.
A nice music review.. but of the three, I prefer the third song.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful music playlist with us.
That last one is my favorite of all. Thanks to you for the 🤟🏼
Me acuerdo que en esa epoca escuchaba full Slipknot, System of a Down y Linkin.
