East Coast Radio KZN -meeting the Team

(Edited)

After 3 years of online interviews, chatting and long distance friendships, it was super exciting to finally meet the team from East Coast Radio in KZN. I had planned with the Music Compiler/Program manager to suprise Danny G for quite a while but didn’t know what would happen until my trip to SA was actually confirmed.

Finally we got the dates and so I was off to KZN. I first met Jackie, who is such an incredible person and a great advocate of my music. He actually has my EGG logo tattooed on his head which is extremely special 🙂

With Jackie at ECR

We got in the car with Nadeem, the audio engineer and off we went to an outside broadcast to go suprise Danny. As we arrived, I slowly wound down my window as I drove past him and the look on his face was something I’ll never forget. He was genuinely so suprised that I was there and he said he had to look about 4 times to actually believe it was me. It was an amazing moment and we got to share an interview together afterwards.

My brother Jack and his wife Les were listening in from Cyprus and my mother and brother Lee were listening in from the Netherlands. Emma and Lizelle were listening in from Durban and hopefully various other friends around the world.

I also had an interview with Styles on the ECR Top 40 in studio. What was really exciting about this was that it was his first ever live interview and first interview for the ECR Top 40 so a highlight for both him and I at the same time!

With Styles on Saturday

We were blessed to stay at a beautiful little guest house called Lily’s cottage and so looked after by the wonderful @lizelle who really went above and beyond to make our time special. I will forever be grateful to her for her love, care and hospitality she showed us in the few days we got to spend in KZN.

With Lizelle

My mother @pandamama met @lizelle on Hive seven years ago when she was running a competition called Cookwithus. Lizelle was a several time winner of the competition. I was fortunate to meet Lizelle in the Netherlands last year in person when she was visiting her son Dean and I was visiting my brother Lee. It's so wonderful to meet other Hiveans around the world when you have been chatting on line.

Lizelle and my mom have never met in person and hopefully this will happen for them next year.

Much Love
Eden 😘

Awesome seeing all the ECR photos Eden! It was super-special hosting you and Emma, one could actually call it a little Hive meetup. It also was so exciting listening to the interview on the radio!
I hope to meet your Mom in person next year!
Thank you and Emma for all the spoils <3

My mom would love to meet you after all these years - and I've been lucky to have met you twice - once in the Netherlands and now in Natal. Thank you for everything - you are a one in a million person Lizelle. Forever grateful and how wonderful to have had such quality time with you. Thank YOU for all the spoils and for a wonderful dinner and dessert. Thanks also for the milk tart. That was such a treat !!

Received information a little late to tune in, appears you had a whale of a time doing the rounds in Durban town once again.

Excellent you ended up with Lizelle for time to unwind, with home cooked meals it must have been quality time chatting and catching up on some local news.

Had a wonderful time in Durban and @lizelle was an amazing hostess. Loved the conversations and loved the home cooking. She is the best ❤️. Was an emotional journey for me to be treated so well. I felt like a queen. Hopefully we can still post the recording on Hive

Durbanites are always welcoming, most visitors go to Jo'burg or Cape Town, great you made your way over to our side of town. !LOLZ
