An award and a horn || Monomad

Hello to all lovers of black and white and photography in general. A couple of weeks ago we were notified that my daughter was awarded a mention in the Caracol Awards of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), in the category of Animated Short Film. It caused us great joy because it was totally unexpected, and also with a short film she had made in 2020, when she was 13 years old and had won a prize at the time. Welcome, a mention from the UNEAC at 17 years of age is something quite unusual, considering that these are some of the most important awards of this institution. At the awards event, the activity was introduced by a musical group of wind instruments. Most of them were young boys, I guess they are students and they really performed their musical pieces with very good quality.

Among them I was struck by a very rare instrument that I had never seen up close, the horn, and because of my lack of culture I thought that the young man was holding it wrong. It seemed strange to me that he was holding it precisely where the sound comes out. Unfortunately I couldn't enter the place, it was full of people paying tribute, but I always managed to take my pictures from outside. That's what this proposal that I bring you today is all about, and with it, my entry to the daily challenge #monomad. I hope you like the session, see you!

Un premio y una Trompa
Hola a todos los amantes del blanco y negro y de la fotografía en general. Hace un par de semanas nos avisan que le otorgan una mención a mi hija en los premios Caracol de la Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC), en la categoría de Cortometraje Animado. Nos causó gran alegría ya que fue totalmente inesperado, y además con un corto que había hecho en 2020, con 13 años de edad y que había obtenido premio en su momento. Bienvenido sea, una mención de la UNEAC a los 17 años de edad es algo bastante inusual, teniendo en cuenta que estos son unos de los premios más importantes de esta institución. En el evento de premiación introdujo la actividad un grupo musical de instrumentos de viento. Muchachos jóvenes en su mayoría, intuyo que son estudiantes y que en verdad ejecutaron sus piezas musicales con muy buena calidad. Entre ellos me llamó la atención un instrumento rarísimo que nunca había visto de cerca, la Trompa y que por mi falta de cultura pensé que el jóven lo estaba sosteniendo mal. Me pareció extraño que lo sostuviera por dónde precisamente sale el sonido. Desgraciadamente no pude entrar al local, estaba repleto de homenajeados, pero siempre logré hacer mis fotos desde afuera. De eso se trata esta propuesta que les traigo hoy y con ello hacer mi entrada al reto diario #monomad. Espero les agrade la sesión. ¡Nos vemos!
