Learn More About Harry Slash And His Involvement In ECW's Music

harry.jpg

Harry Slash was the lead producer for what became known as the "ECW intro music", formerly called "This Is Extreme". Harry has given lots of interviews over the years about his time in ECW, both working behind-the-scenes as well as regarding his involvement in some of the music used during the second half of the company's run. "This Is Extreme" debuted at Barely Legal, in April 1997; and it now has been heard most recently as Paul Heyman's music whenever he is associated in WWE with his time in ECW, such as when he entered the arena for last year's WWE Hall of Fame.

Harry asked ECWwrestling.com (https://ecwwrestling.com/harry-slash) to include many people whom he felt didn't receive proper credit for ECW's music, even including the first CD album "ECW Extreme Music". Here are the credits he wanted to make sure that wrestling fans know so that no one's efforts were overlooked:

Harry Slash: producer, vocals, bass, keyboards, guitar, engineer & song writer
Steve Budgie Werner: drums
Richie Scarlet: guitar & bass
Andy Abbene: guitar
Eddie Wohl: co-producer & engineer
Roderick Kohn: guitar, bass, drum programming, keyboards, engineer, co-producer & song writer
Taz: vocals
Michael Lawler: guitar & backing vocals
Tony Moore: vocals
Arno Hecht: all saxophones and clarinet
Even Steven Levee: bass
Stephen Bondy: guitar, engineer, co-producer
Francine Fournier: vocals
Eddie Sperry: mastering, engineer & co-producer. (RIP)
Garry G-Man Sullivan: drums
Frankie Fortune: vocals (RIP)
Mickey Leigh: guitar & song writer
Frank Sannutto: drums
Joey Fortune: guitar
Dave E. Doom: guitar
Adolph Marcellino: bass
Joe Lynn Turner: vocals

Others may have been involved with music for ECW, in addition to existing music from other artists & record labels at the time. However, this list is a comprehensive breakdown of the musicians & vocalists (including Francine's doing voice work for Rick Rude's music) regarding the proprietary music made for ECW.

Here is more from Francine about her working with Harry on her portion of work for ECW music:

Harry Slash & The Slashtones are credited with the following ECW music:

Harry also has a great sense of humor! In the inaudible wording portion of The Eliminators' theme, "Total Elimination", Harry confirmed that he made up crazy lyrics just to have fun - knowing that they would not be clear for the listener. Here is what Harry said:

“But we used a vocoder to make them sound robotic so I just sang stupid shit cuz I knew they wouldn’t be understood. One lines I remember without listening to the tune again was “Late night riding on a subway train, met a blowjob whore, you know it’s all the same.” Another I remember was “Saturn is tough and Kronus is great. One’s always high but the other isn’t straight.” But with the vocoder effect you couldn’t understand them.

Confirmation of this, and additional humorous lyrics he used, is on his Twitter timeline: https://x.com/PeteSanctions/status/1514401162304360452

Saturn is tough and Kronus is great. One’s always high but the other isn’t straight.

That is just too funny!

During my high school years, I used to watch wrestling. That was a hype before; we often imitate them and wrestle with my sisters. LOL. My favorite wrestler is the Undertaker.
