Nickelback Guitar Picks! My Actifit Report Card: May 13 2026
Today we have for you guitar pics by the band called
Nickelback

Here's a look at the front and the back of these guitar picks

Nickelback is a world-renowned Canadian rock band that formed in 1995 in the small town of Hanna, Alberta. The original lineup featured brothers Chad Kroeger (lead vocals and guitar) and Mike Kroeger (bass), along with their cousin Brandon Kroeger (drums) and friend Ryan Peake (guitar). The band’s name famously originated from Mike Kroeger’s time working at a local Starbucks, where he would frequently tell customers, "Here’s your nickel back," while giving change. Initially starting as a cover band called Village Idiot, they eventually transitioned to writing original material, leading to their first full-length album, Curb, in 1996.
The band's connection to Hanna remains a significant part of their identity and local history. Located approximately 220 kilometers northeast of Calgary, the town has long celebrated being the "Home of Nickelback," featuring highway welcome signs and murals of the band's album covers on local buildings like the curling rink. The town served as the backdrop for their hit 2005 music video for "Photograph," which prominently featured the high school the band members attended, the local train station, and other community landmarks. Although the original wooden highway signs were removed in 2023 due to disrepair, the community remains a proud supporter of the band, who in turn have continued to support local fundraisers and events over the decades.

This collection is a remarkable physical record of rock history, featuring a diverse array of guitar picks gathered from some of the most legendary North American tours. Each piece represents a specific moment in time, coming directly from the hands of the most influential touring bands of the last 20 to 40 years. From the thrash metal precision of Megadeth to the grunge-era icons like Eddie Vedder, these picks are more than just gear—they are tangible artifacts from the high-energy arenas and stadiums that defined a generation of music.
The significance of these picks lies in their connection to the peak of live performance culture across the continent. Over the past four decades, touring reached a massive scale, and these picks were used by artists who headlined the most iconic festivals and venues in the world. Whether it's a specialty "Batmobile" design or a classic tour-stamped plectrum, having items from bands that shaped the sound of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s makes this a curated chronicle of modern rock’s touring legac. I'm putting this guitar pic together. Alphabetical order over the next few weeks and months.
