Music: A medicine to the soul

Music doesn't end with just notes, strings, and cords. It's also a therapy to a man's soul. Spiritists who operate with meditation can relate better to the role of music in the therapeutic process. According to the Holy book, music started long before humans were created. It was the major occupation of the Angels who sang sweet melodies of praise. If the divine has some attachment to music, then it portrays how important music is, not just as mere altar of words with rhymes but a medium through which we communicate with our inner mind, and speak a certain life into it.

There was once a king who was possessed with demons, his point of healing for a moment was through music sung by a master psalmist. Every time he sang, the demon relieved the king. This psalmist is David, and the King, Saul. It's amazing to know the healing power that resides in music when sung in one spirit and soul. It goes beyond healing but also delivers one from oppression just as seen in the case of David and Saul.

Music is sung in diverse circumstances and for different purposes. While growing up, I noticed my grandma sang certain songs when she was sad, and certain music when she was happy. The more one listens to the heartbreaking songs, the more one's spirit weakens, feeling pitiful for the singer and vice versa is the case for a music that speaks life in it. Music can be a medicine and at the same time taste like a gall to the singer and listener, it all depends on the kind of music sung and one's mood. Music can be anything you want it to be, and it's the reason why we should embrace the positive aspect of music, a medicine to our soul when we are depressed, a healer when our soul is weary.
