Dreem-wotw: More Than a sound

We spent our whole childhood wanting to grow up and we will spend our adulthood wishing we were children again. This song "7 years old" by Lukas Graham seems to make deeper meaning each time I go back to it after some years. The music is more than just sound but a message to every stage of one's life. It tells how short life is, and how each stage has a demand. Listening to it gives me an awakening that time flies, and I ought to do what I should at every stage of my life so I would leave no regret as I grow old.

My Taste For Music

My first attraction to music is the sound. But once the lyric of the song doesn't inspire me in any way I soon discard it. My taste in music is more than just a song, but the message and that's one reason why I prefer old school music. The music "7 years" by Lukas Graham is an old song but still feels young and this is because the message in it never dies. My playlist for music is often songs that make one ponder after listening to them. The music should have the capacity to connect with my soul and create an atmosphere that fosters growth and rethink.

The above song by Lukas Graham gives a tale of his life from age 7 through 60, when he was old and frail, outlining the advice he got from his parents and how he couldn't wait to give the same advice to his children. I was once lonely and the first thought that came to my mind was this song, an advice his mum had given to him from age seven to make friends. I think I failed in that aspect and I felt its negative impact. Music like this with words of experience helps the younger generation go through their life seamlessly with little struggles.

The fact that I learn from songs makes me very selective when it comes to the taste of music I love. I'm the kind of person who follows a lyric closely, and more than just the sound, I want to pick a message that guides me or makes me have a rethink of my life each time. The quote "Music is life" could mean Music is a light on our path that directs our footsteps and paths in life. Why listen to gibberish words that have no meaning, or some spoilt lines that promote a negative vibe. When it comes to music, I'm inspired by the singer's words.

I also do not just listen to songs anyhow, I pay close attention to the lyrics to find even just one perfect line that sends a message to me and would guide me through life. Music is more than the sound but the message it passes across that leaves one to start thinking about their lives. I love good music 🎶

It glad to know most people are drawn to the message nowadays than just the sounds

Exactly. That is the beauty of music, to focus on the message than the sound.

Life is a roller-coaster of challenges, lesson and experience. Without all this tantrum of life, no one can actually speak from experience. It is the best teacher...by the way music touches the soul and pulls one through thoughts.

Quite a reflective post!

That's true, it's the challenges that builds our experience and sometimes these experiences are put into songs for others to digest.
