A replacement for music

avatar

Music has been in existence for a long time, and it has been a tool of entertainment, relaxation and reconnection with the soul. However, music at a certain era was not of so much importance, talking about our forefathers who didn't experience civilization, and the Hadzabe tribe who have a different lifestyle from the rest of the world. This means, they have other activities that replace the area of music as long as it gives them the entertainment, relaxation and connection that they desire.

Even though I'm a lover of music, there are moments I stay away from it, especially when it starts to become a disturbance and then engage in other things. These things I do over time started to replace the music I enjoy and that's because I found a new connection with them, but I'll be talking about one of them that can replace music for me. This new activity doesn't have sound or melody, but it can be addictive when one engage in it daily, and it requires little work on your side to do it and the only thing that has successfully replaced music in my life is "sleeping".

Sleeping, my new addiction

For the singular fact that I can switch off my music just to sleep makes it music replaceable by it. Give me music and sleep, music on a decorated golden tray and sleep on a tattered plank, and I'll gladly choose sleep over music. Watching movies may have replaced music for me but movies also I rarely watch. My daily routine is work and sleep. I rarely engage in any entertaining activities and the only thing I do is listen to music which can easily be replaced by sleep.

Why sleep?

One may wonder why sleeping could replace music for me when I can gladly do both and probably have the best sleep with music on. However, I get bored when the music is long, worse when I listen to it via an earpiece. 2-3 hours music is enough for me, it's the moment in which I connect with the flows, and when it starts to sing on and on, I become fed up and sleeping while a music plays easily distract my enjoyable moment. But for sleeping, I can do that 24 hours a day, 7 times a week, and 30 times a month and not get bored as long as people make provision for food during this moment.

I have a better relaxation when I sleep compare to the soothing that comes with music. Sleeping purges my worries and frees my mind each time I engage in it and this has been my routine Every Time I need to recharge for a task ahead.

These points may not be enough, and probably proved irrelevant because there's no correlation between music and sleeping, a two different entity in focus and this was to tell you that Nothing has been able to replace music for me. Music still stands out amidst other things, now and always
