La ciudad de Camagüey/ Cuba, tiene música propia, una orquesta protagonizada por el constante sonar del tacón en los adoquines, las campanas a contratiempo, los cantos a deshora.

Los bardos y poetas arrullaron nuestros parques, nuestros callejones, nuestra entramada adquitectura y persisten hasta hoy, como faros para iluminar los más oscuros parajes.

Hoy quiero hablarles sobre Miguel Escalona, uno de los fundadores del llamado Movimiento de la Nueva Trova cubana y figura principal de su surgimiento en nuestra villa en 1973.

Cronista de la calle y del alma, un faro encendido en la bruma del presente.

Lo llaman "el último bohemio", y no es exageración.

Al respecto de su obra Silvio Rodríguez diría: "está hecha desde la guitarra y de una intención poética...un trovador importante, con rasgos propios y con canciones tremendamente buenas y dolorosamente desconocidas".

No buscó fama, no buscó viralidad. Buscaba tocar el alma. Y lo logró

El documental El último bohemio, de Carlos E. León, bajo la producción general de Silvio Rodríguez, en los Estudios Ojalá, es un merecido homenaje a la vida y obra de Miguel Escalona.
Una oda a alguien que arrulló las noches de nuestra ciudad con su canto inolvidable.

Canciones como: Voy a cantarle a la Canta, La danza, ¿Qué hacer?, Festival de la Canción de Varadero 1970, Canción del 11 de Mayo, Esa mujer, ¿Quién habitará ?, Canción a la sonrisa blanca, entre otras, con texto, música e interpretación del propio Miguel , pueden ser encontradas en este documental, totalmente recomendado y que deben de ser ...¡¡rescatadas!!

En una ciudad donde las paredes no guardan los secretos, las plazas susurran versos, y las noches aún saben a guitarra y ron, habita un espíritu que resiste al olvido. Camagüey, cuna de una llama bohemia que aún no se apaga, que no debemos, ni podemos permitirnos apagar: la voz de nuestra historia.

Les comparto una última añoranza por hoy:

En un mundo saturado de contenido vacío, ser bohemio es un acto de resistencia. Apostar por lo auténtico es un acto político.

Recordar a figuras como Miguel, que nos devuelvan nuestra escencia, nos transporten a la génesis de lo que fuimos, nos recuerden de dónde venimos, para así saber con claridad hacia donde vamos, es una forma de no olvidarnos de lo que realmente importa.

Quizá no toques guitarra. Pero puedes ser trovador en tu código.

Puedes ser trovador si usas tu creatividad para contarnos tu realidad, para transpasar barreras, sobrepasar muros, transmitir mensajes, promover reflexiones, construir con esfuerzo tu comunidad y tu memoria.

De ese modo, nadie estará solo en esta lucha constante, contra el olvido...
