Path to my music journalism

Hello everyone!

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: I’ve been accepted to participate in the “Mala škola Rock&Off novinarstva (small school of Rock&Off journalism)”! The fourth edition of this unique project will last from 16.11. to 8.12. (Only on weekends), and so far it’s been amazing!! Organized by the Rock&Off platform, this program is dedicated to introducing young talented people in music journalism, offering a perfect mix of learning and creativity.

The initiative aims to provide us participants with the skills and knowledge needed to explore the world of music journalism. Through workshops, expert mentorship, and hands-on assignments (literally.. we already got 4 assignments😵‍💫), we get the opportunity to learn about the process of interviewing artists, making podcasts, social media, writing reviews about albums, concerts etc.

For me, this is a dream opportunity. Combining my love for music and writing, the program feels like the perfect step into the world of music journalism. I always wanted to become a musician but that path never came true unfortunately.. I’m looking forward to learning from industry professionals, meeting like-minded people, and growing both as a writer and a music fan.

To get accepted we had to write about an album, concert, or music festival and then they chose the 10 best ones and emailed us back! If you’re wondering what I wrote about, I’ll put it in just below so you can read it :)

Album Review BTS - The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever

This album is the final part of BTS' trilogy "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life". The album captures the essence of suffering young people experience, but also their resilience. Released in May 2016, this album tells a story of passion, fear and longing through 23 songs, reflecting the raw emotions of holding on to fleeting moments. Each song is layered with a sense of hope intertwined with melancholy, as BTS reflects on the ups and downs of their youth and career.

Formed in 2013 by Big Hit Entertainment, BTS is a seven-member group from South Korea. They began as a hip-hop-oriented group before expanding into genres such as pop, rock and EDM, all while maintaining their signature spirit of deeply emotional lyrics. “Young Forever” resonates universally, highlighting BTS’s ability to connect with listeners through lyrics that convey their own struggles, creating a cohesive experience that feels both familiar and fresh. With lyrics that dive into themes of dreams, struggles, and self-acceptance, the album is a deeply emotional journey that resonates with listeners facing similar challenges. The album is a powerful reminder of the importance of living in the moment and nurturing the beauty of youth, while appreciating the growth that comes with believing in yourself.

BTS are my favorite group and they’ve helped me grow and heal so much. They’re such amazing people and will always have a special place in my life. I started listening to them in 2015; When I was 14, and I’m 23 now! They’re currently serving in the South Korean ARMY and are coming back next year :).

We have a new class this weekend and I’m sure it will be even better than last time!
I can’t wait to share my journey with you all soon! Stay tuned!
